While many of us might be dreaming of a coastal road trip in a converted campervan, the most popular commercial conversion types for MAXUS customers are tippers, dropsides, Luton vans and chiller vans.

GM Coachwork is one of MAXUS’ preferred convertors in the UK market. Right now, MAXUS is working with GM Coachwork to convert the e DELIVER 9 into a 14-seater zero-emission minibus. The conversion on the e DELIVER 9 platform features a ply lined and carpeted interior and 14 seats including the driver. Passenger entry is made easy with an electric side-step which comes out from underneath the side of the vehicle and a second step inside the bus.

High visibility passenger handrails are fitted to assist with entry. In the rear cabin, GM fitted 11 seats with integral belts to give the bus a capacity of 14. A non-slip floor adds another safety measure to the vehicle while LED lighting illuminates the rear cabin to create a pleasant passenger area. Wheelchair accessibility was a key consideration for this conversion and this specialist minibus comes with a wheelchair lift and removable seats to create space to carry up to three wheelchair passengers.

Conversions profile: PEUGEOT Easing the pressure as you go electric

The PEUGEOT Boxer van has a wealth of practical features designed to support businesses, while offering both a diesel and an electric powertrain.

Off-the-shelf conversions include a Tipper, Dropside, Luton Box, Low floor Luton and Curtainsides. However, the Boxer range is so incredibly versatile for conversion there are a host of other options available: PTS Ambulances, horse boxes, motor homes, traffic management vehicles, minibuses, welfare vehicles, car transporters and grounds maintenance vehicles. Peugeot can also supply Boxer as a back-to-back chassis that allows a customised low floor chassis to be added, increasing operational scope.

Conversion interest is growing on the e-Boxer Chassis Cab Professional and plans are in place to fit a caged tipper and a dropside with a tail lift onto e-Boxer, meaning that the vehicle perfectly lends itself to this application in an urban environment. The new 75kWh battery will add up to 15 miles to the electric range of the van, allowing drivers to travel up to 154 miles (WLTP) without loss of loadspace. In the large van sector, the availability of vehicles with an extended range has been limited. The new 75kWh battery is paired with a 122bhp electric motor with maximum torque of 350Nm delivering instant responsiveness with no vibrations and a smooth driving experience. As well as the Boxer, e-Boxer and the range of conversion options, the Peugeot LCV line-up includes the award-winning Peugeot Partner and Peugeot Expert, both of which are available with fully electric powertrains.

As it stands, Peugeot is the number one e-LCV manufacturer in the UK by sales, which is testament to the growing number of businesses now making the switch to electric motoring.
