Bret earned a scholarship to the University of Southern California in 2000 earning a degree in Communication in 2004. His years at USC taught him to be a disciplined formidable competitor, as he was a starting pitcher on the Trojan baseball team. Upon graduation, he moved to Las Vegas where he began a career in wholesale finance earning the distinction of No. 1 in Production for Las Vegas, top 1% among Business Development Managers, and Platinum Producer for Sales Excellence for one of the nation’s largest lending institutions. Bret Joined Butler & Butler in 2009 and quickly rose in the ranks of Eastside Realtors. Woodinville Hollywood Hill The Puget Sound area provides people an interesting array of places to live. Hollywood Hill in Woodinville, Washington is no exception. Located roughly 30 minutes Northeast of Seattle, Hollywood Hill, affectionately known as “The Hill,” is rapidly becoming one of the most desirable places to reside. The Hill is mostly considered unincorporated King County but shares the City of Woodinville (its zip code 98072, city population 9,000). The Hill is situated along the Eastside of the Sammamish River farm belt, just East of WoodinvilleRedmond Road between NE 124th Street and Downtown Woodinville. Hollywood Hill properties are generally larger than most in the greater Seattle area and include a number of equestrian estates. Homes range from modestly priced, average size residences to luxurious country estates, therefore, attracting a wide range of buyers. Living on the Hill is relaxed and friendly. It’s a place where living is easy — an escape from the hustle and bustle — which is probably why so many, including professional athletes, business executives, and renowned doctors alike have come to call the Hill “home.”

Only minutes to downtown Woodinville and 15-20 minutes to other major shopping, including Bellevue Square, Redmond Town Center and Alderwood Mall. Other nearby amenities include two public libraries and the brand new Evergreen Hospital with surrounding medical facilities just ten minutes away. Commuting to and from the Hill is simple, void of long backups on two lane roads, making travel to bustling business hubs such as Redmond, Bellevue, Everett, and Seattle manageable. Another distinctive feature of Hollywood Hill is the Tolt Pipeline Trail. Underneath the approximately 100-foot wide easement is the pipe that carries water from the Tolt River to the Metro area. Miles of easement are frequented by Hollywood Hill resident horseback riders, walkers, joggers and bicyclists alike. Homes that are adjacent to the pipeline are among the most sought after on the Hill because of the convenient access to the Trail. Residents can just slip out their back gates and onto the Trail or enjoy the simply pleasures of people watching from their backyard and meeting passers-by and neighbors.

Often referred to as Equestrian Country, horse enthusiasts come from all over the area to utilize two first-class facilities in Woodinville: the Gold Creek Equestrian Center and the Hollywood Hill Equestrian Center. Every year these centers hold numerous events and contests. For those seeking their own facilities, many properties on the Hill are large enough to allow for private horse facilities and acreage for animals to roam, not to mention the convenience of the Tolt Trail and others offering miles of riding pleasure.


Woodinville Wine Country One of the more recent changes in the area that has been enhancing the desirability of Hollywood Hill is its immediate proximity to Woodinville’s burgeoning wine country. A fiveminute drive from most Hollywood Hill homes and you arrive in the wine tourism hub most commonly identified by the Hollywood Hill Schoolhouse. The historic schoolhouse is now host to number of weddings, special events and even a wine tasting room below. Other wine tasting rooms abound in the commercial areas surrounding the school and are open seven days a week. Currently there are approximately 100 tasting rooms in Woodinville with more being added all the time. Best of all, the wines are outstanding and priced much lower in cost than their California counterparts. Wine lovers rejoice! The warehouse wine district is about a fifteenminute drive but still in Woodinville. There are numerous tasting rooms but in order to have them in the district, the wine has to be made there. Grapes are trucked over from the grape growing regions East of the Cascades and are pressed and aged in Woodinville. Convenient for residents of Hollywood Hill, those interested in wine making can volunteer to help in the processing where many wineries participate.

The wineries host several social functions such as new releases and special occasion events. Twice a year, large tasting events are also held, the Spring Tasting (Passport Woodinville) and St. Nick’s Day. Those events extend to all of the Woodinville Winery areas. It should also be noted that some residents of the Hill have established their own winemaking facilities and have tasting rooms on their property for the “would-be vintner.” Entertainment and fine dining abound! St. Michelle Winery, located at the bottom of the Hill, has a large amphitheater and stands as one of the Pacific Northwest’s top music venues, bringing in well-known artists. Columbia Winery and Red Hook Brewery across the street also provide excellent entertainment venues. A major commercial area is earmarked in the heart of the tourism district and area residents look forward to its wine-themed shopping center. Willows Lodge is a first-class Resort and Spa that offers the ultimate in luxury with two of Washington’s finest restaurants, Herbfarm and Barking Frog, in addition to nearby Purple Café. Russell’s is a bit longer drive but also offers fine wines and top cuisine.


Woodinville, A Special Community If you’re a gardener or just enjoy fresh local produce, you’re going to love Hollywood Hill. Woodinville is home to one of the finest nurseries in Puget Sound, Molbaks, known for having everything. The Sammamish River farm area also has several other nurseries to choose from. A new farmers market facility is being constructed near downtown. Located on what is known as The 21 Acres, they will offer participation in a large community garden and provide expert-taught classes for area residents on growing your own produce. Also available in the area are businesses that provide weekly produce family packages grown locally and are known for high quality and freshness. Woodinville and Hollywood Hill are becoming the ‘Saint Helena’ of Washington. Woodinville and Hollywood Hill’s proximity to outdoor activities is another draw to the area. Just minutes to Highway 522, and an hour to Steven’s Pass, thrill-seekers will find skiing, hiking, fishing and camping options. The area also abounds in golf courses that will challenge any player. New soccer and baseball facilities, plus the Burke-Gilman Trail provide hours of entertainment for the whole family. There’s no question why so many have chosen Woodinville and Hollywood Hill to call “home.”
