Fa la la la la - Tis the season to shop local and support our own Artists! So without further ado, here are some incredible ways to immerse yourself in local culture!

Down at the Campbell River Art Gallery, the Main Gallery will turn into a Fine Arts Shop: an intentionally curated art sale, throughout December until the 22nd, 2020. The Shop features thoughtfully selected, high quality fine art by professional and emerging artists from across Vancouver Island. The selection committee is excited to offer locals this truly unique opportunity to shop for professional art, raise funds for the Gallery’s public programs, and support living artists.

Splurge on a new piece for your mantle, bring a client, or just come enjoy this exclusive experience. For hours or to book your private shopping experience, connect with the CRAG directly at crartgallery.ca — please be mindful of their Covid protocols.

If looking for First Nation Art, be sure to visit the Weiwaikum’s House of Treasures in Discovery Harbour Centre or I-Hos Gallery in Komox on the Dyke Road. I-Hos is currently celebrating their 25th Anniversary. Both galleries have an incredible selection of Artists and pieces. From original works such as carvings and paintings to jewellery and contemporary printed retail lines! In Komox, not far from I-Hos is Spirit of the West Coast Gallery and this is a not-tomiss opportunity to explore local First Nation Artists work up close and personal. All three host e-commerce websites and Facebook pages that you can access for more details (and to shop!).

If you are feeling like you need to stay home at this time, there is no better way to shop than joining the Virtual Studio Tour, presented by CV Arts! Head to www.ciag.ca for all the details. You can visit independent Artists or join the studio tour during its daily progress.

There are many Artists and Artisans on Vancouver Island, and we are so privileged to be rich in culture; be sure to stop by your local Galleries and Gift Shops that have their doors open to you or find them online and contribute that way!

Have too much stuff already? Trying to find that perfect gift for the person who has everything? Why not try an Art class or workshop. Many start up in January and are in social distanced settings or online! From pottery to paint, you’ll be sure to find a unique experience for yourself or that special someone.

There’s no excuse to say you couldn’t find the perfect gift or they were sold out! Every piece of art is unique in its own way much like us! Happy holidays and enjoy the shopping season!
