MODERN MILIEU
Modern Milieu is an eclectic mixing of traditional and modern styles for the design-savvy and nostalgic in nature. This trend takes notes from the fun and lively shapes and textures of the midcentury modern movement, while also emphasizing the comfort and timely elegance of traditional design. Not about fast fashion, rather this style is about the repurposing of the past for the future. It is modern and youthful, but with strong familial ties to the great design trends of the 20th and 21st centuries.

endless possibilities
Characterized by self-expression and storytelling through punchy colors, quirky shapes, and organic and sustainable materials, Modern Milieu is all about functional design for livable spaces that share passion and interest.
DESIGNER’S PERSPECTIVE
Modern Milieu was inspired by a resurgence of love and respect for traditionally designed pieces, while also reflecting the ever-growing affinity for modern and sustainable style. As a design team we had a desire to pay homage to the curved traditional shapes of the past, while also tapping into clean and modern lines. Taking the postmodern approach of breaking free from the impersonal, this style instead celebrates the unique and quirky. We aimed to feel collectively connected to the product and every detail, so each piece tells its own story.
modern milieu
With Modern Milieu we were compelled to design not to just fill your gathering spaces, but to create an experience that can be shared by all. Delivering on the idea of products that hold beauty on the outside with a craftsmanship that emulates true function within. These pieces are built purposefully with an investment in the ideals of stress-free living. Utilizing unorthodox combinations of organic materials such as cork with lively lacquered paint to create an authentically fresh twist on traditional design aesthetics. By embracing mixed media and avant basics, we were able to create a collection that speaks to both young and old.
Trend No. 2 New Southern
NEW SOUTHERN
Like the port towns of Charleston, Miami, and New Orleans, our New Southern trend is all about the vibrant interplay of cultures, traditions, and histories. It is about reflecting back to the design traditions of the South while also embracing the warm and inviting exchange that is best described as Southern Hospitality. This trend is relaxed living at its finest, where comfort overshadows formalities.

southern hospitality
The South is steeped in soul and traditions with a craving for worn and weathered materials that intertwine the rustic and the refined. Our New Southern trend values simple symmetry and balance, with an earthy color palette at its heart.
DESIGNER’S PERSPECTIVE
There is just something soothing and comforting about traditional design that is inherently good for the soul. This trend is about creating approachable living that exemplifies the graciousness and grandeur that is quintessential of southern sensibilities. Gathering inspiration from the roots of our own childhood memories and homes, we had a desire to create products that were reminiscent of family heirlooms. Although tradition doesn’t always play well with contemporary touches, we sought to bring a fresh perspective to the olden days.

A vital part of the product design process was incorporating a medley of vintage inspired elements that feel as if they have been collected over the years. We were intuitively drawn to a serene palette of creams, whites, and beiges while bringing in depth through distressed finishes and hints of metallics. Celebrating perfectly unpolished spaces was an essential ingredient to designing for this trend. Through the intricacy of layering juxtaposing styles our creative team achieved an aesthetic that speaks to the true values of a southern home.
Trend No. 3 Highland
HIGHLAND
Inspired by the verdant hues of forests, the calm serenity of streams, and the majesty of mountains, the Highland trend embraces rugged, natural beauty.
Like a mountain refuge deep within the wild, this trend embodies the welcoming warmth of a hearth to relax around with kith and kin.

Raw and reclaimed materials take center stage when it comes to rustic charm. Rich hues and matted finishes are key ingredients to the Highland trend. Focusing on the natural beauty and imperfections of each piece gives this style a lived-in and welcoming feel.
DESIGNER’S PERSPECTIVE
highland
Nature is truly the star of the show! The goal of Highland was to let the ruggedness and natural beauty of the materials shine through. Rather than focusing on perfect lines we chose to revere the distinct character of each piece created. For our creative team, it is a playful combination of a classic rustic style with a touch of industrial that gives these products their splendor and charm.
Simplicity reigned when it came to building this trend. We were guided through the design process with a strong admiration for textural elements, such as forged iron, reclaimed wood, distressed leathers, woven textiles, and stone. The idea of Highland is rooted in the belief of bringing the outside in. The great outdoors also inspires the color palette by paying tribute to the muted and deep hues found in nature. Unpretentious and deeply connected to its surroundings is what gives this trend warmth and heart.
Trend No. 4 Solace
SOLACE
A modern fusion of Japanese WabiSabi and Scandinavian design, Solace is about creating a refuge from the worries of the world. Having warm and cocooning elements in common, these culturally different styles complement each other in a pure and unhindered way. Solace embraces a more authentic lifestyle through an aesthetic of natural imperfection and simplicity.
solace
Solace favors streamlined and simple shapes that bring a peaceful and serene aspect to our hectic lives. Crisp and calming neutral tones, in both light and dark shades, are the hallmark palette of this trend.

DESIGNER’S PERSPECTIVE
Solace isn’t about being sparse; it’s about being intentional. It was clear from the beginning that the focus had to be on products that were built with sustainability in mind and that stood the test of time. The extravagant and ornate are replaced with a basic commitment to honor simplicity and functionality, by designing pieces that are unobtrusive in nature and effortless in style. Incorporating a prevalence of organic materials adds to the hygge and tranquil quality of this trend. We utilized shapes and lines that really epitomize the purity of the materials and channel the sereneness of Scandinavian style. This aesthetic calls for soft muted colors that blend well with natural and raw materials. Making conscious choices to create simple and cozy pieces that foster togetherness is what this trend is all about.
