ow more than ever, it is critical for genuine expertise in the GCC’s systems integrators market. Chief information officers find themselves under intense pressure from all sides to deliver on digital transformation initiatives, but they are all-too-often left hamstrung by a lack of skilled resources and shrinking budgets. The reality is that CEOs now realise the unavoidable need to deliver simplified, attractive digital services for one of the world’s most tech-savvy regions, and CIOs bear the brunt of this demand. Although this is one key commonality among the Middle East’s community of end users, in other respects they all differ greatly. No two companies have the exact same needs, and for SIs to be successful, putting a customer’s specific requirements first is a sure-fire recipe for success. The technology industry is becoming increasingly wrought with complexity, but the trick to being a first-class systems integrator is to make this complexity disappear for customers, and to understand which technologies and processes will make the difference for them. Their end experience should be a seamless and secure one, where devices and data move freely across networks with minimal fuss. This year’s SI Guide gives a cross-section of the ways the systems integrators can adapt to the digital age, and help to put their customers first.

Help AG

H

elp AG provides strategic consultancy combined with tailored information security solutions to enterprise businesses across the Middle East. The firm delivers security solutions and services for applications, networks and back-end data centres to public and private sector organisations. Many SIs are transforming into solution providers. Do you provide new expertise and solutions to accelerate digital transformation? Since its establishment in the Middle East in 2004, Help AG has maintained a sole focus on advanced IT security services and solutions. We aim to deliver niche solutions, consultancy and services. Our support has enabled organisations to undertake their digital transformation journeys with confidence that their infrastructures and services are protected. To achieve digital transformation enterprises have been leveraging technology to radically transform the way they conduct business. This means adopting new technologies including analytics, cloud services, mobility, social media and smart embedded devices. However, while implementing these technologies has the potential to dramatically improve an organisation’s performance and reach, it also increases a company’s cyber-attack surface area. With mission critical services, sensitive corporate and customer data, and in instances, even lives at stake, the role of cybersecurity in digital transformation cannot be overstated. Can you briefly outline your company’s major achievements over the last 12 months? Over the last year, we have grown our workforce to 130 employees while

maintaining our 70:30 technical to sales ratio for our staff. We have increased our business with our top 20 customers by 42 percent year-on-year and have successfully converted 21 enterprise organisations into new customer accounts. Furthermore, there had been an increased uptake in our managed security services (MSS) with over 25 customers signing up for this service as our Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) became fully functional. We have also delivered 2200 man-days worth of Security Analysis services over 2016 and our Security Analysis team uncovered 40 zero-day vulnerabilities in our customer’s networks which we believe are testament to our technical proficiency. Enterprises are looking to reduce cost and optimise resources. How can you help? Our MSS services are perfect examples of how we achieve this. Firstly, it helps eliminate the major hurdle of upfront CAPEX and turns it into a more manageable OPEX. By extending services such as 24x7 monitoring of our customers’ security environments, we help them get the maximum value from their existing IT investments. Often, it isn’t that organisations haven’t invested in security solutions but rather that the solutions are not properly configured and managed. Because we take on the time-consuming tasks, this frees up the in-house IT teams to focus on innovation rather than administration and management. Do you offer any managed/cloud services? We have invested heavily on equipment, manpower, trainings and certifications to establish a fully functional CSOC. Our MSS are certified and in compliance with the Information Security Management System ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, which ensures that we implemented over 110 stringent security controls relating to Physical & Environmental Security, Technical Security, Personnel Security, Supplier Relations, Operations Security, Business Continuity, Incident

Stephan Berner, CEO, Help AG Management, and Compliance. With regards to our design and architecture we ensure that no logdata is leaving the customers premises. This is driven to be compliant with local regulations, which we do so in a manner that best meets our customers’ requirements and consumption models be it traditional, OPEX-based or cloud-based. Define your company’s growth strategy for the next one year? At Help AG, we have identified and outlined three corporate strategic initiatives for 2017. First is our focus on existing markets, driven and measured against quality delivery and customer satisfaction. Followed by our goal to capitalise on our geographical expansion in KSA and secure new business in the Kingdom. Lastly, drive the uptake of our MSS, as offerings such as this enable us to engage deeply and more consistently with customers and help them address new areas in their security infrastructures.

An SI should be looking to provide a comprehensive range of insights and advisory services that are both end-to-end and specific to a customer’s needs. While requirements may vary from customer to customer, enterprise environments are more complex than ever, and it is imperative that SIs ensure that solutions can be seamlessly integrated across an organisation’s infrastructure, aligning with both on premise and cloud solutions. Which emerging technologies will have a major impact on enterprise IT over the

Do you offer any managed/cloud services? We offer complete IT managed services that cover professional consulting and staffing, on-site support and off site monitoring. We leverage solid association with trusted solutions providers and partners that have the scale and expertise in their domain. Many SIs are transforming into solution providers. Thus, our innovations today cover niche solutions such as iDeal - a customer experience driven real estate management solution on the cloud, Mobebiz - an enterprise

14

Can you briefly outline your company’s major achievements over the last 12 months? We are now regarded as one of the most well-recognised Oracle partners in the ECEMEA region, and I believe our longstanding reputation is poised to continue with rapid growth in the future. We have received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions that speak for the innovations introduced by us and the various milestones achieved. We have also expanded our operations into Saudi Arabia and Malaysia in this past year, which has been a great step forward for us, as we seek to establish ourselves as a major cloud player in the region. What are the major integration trends enterprises should care about? With the increasing importance of digital transformation, it’s important to stay relevant. Enterprises today are caught in a dilemma of how to manage the duality of legacy systems, as well as new digital offerings. Given that such transformations are not achieved in a ‘big bang’ model, integrating the legacy systems with the digital offerings is a key challenge that organisations need to focus on and ensure that they achieve it in an as-seamless-as-possible manner. Besides the technology aspect, integration in today’s digital era is also about the enterprise’s mindset and the growing customer expectations. The integrations should bring in greater efficiency to the back-office processes, while delivering a radically improved and personalised communication and experience to customers, and this

experience need to be consistent across all channels. Do you offer any managed/cloud services? Our solutions include SaaS, PaaS and IaaS leveraging Oracle Cloud. We offer managed services to our client helping them lower their cost while providing them with additional bandwidth to focus on innovation and transformation. As part of the current industry trend, we help customers to migrate, run and manage any workload in the cloud. We have expertise, tools and processes to build, deploy, run and manage both Oracle and non-Oracle workloads across broad portfolio of business applications. Define your company’s growth strategy for the next one year? Innovations in social media, customer experience, mobility, cloud, big data and analytics are opening new doors for businesses globally. We will pioneer unique approaches to bring personalised solutions to enhance customer experience. We will also take our success stories to a larger set of customers and focus on geographic expansion to achieve increment growth in our customer base by 2020. Enterprises are looking to reduce cost and optimise resources. How can you help? With technological developments, customers are empowered to take charge of their interactions with service providers. This customer centricity can be embraced with digital transformation. TransSys can help enterprises develop innovative platforms with flexibility to deploy solutions either on-premise, on the cloud, or both. Our consultative approach aims to help customers retain their focus on transformation and providing significant business value-with bottom-line results.
