MOLLY J BRINGING THE HEAT 1. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO LAUNCH YOUR SWIMWEAR BRAND? Ever since I was a child, I have had a love of fashion. It was always my dream to own my own company, specifically a fashion label. While working as a model throughout high school and college, my social media account grew. Having done many sponsored posts and promotions for various brands, I saw many of these small brands explode through the power of social media. Last year, I decided that it was time for me to start my own company and leverage all I had learned. The decision to focus on swimwear was an easy choice for me. I love the beach! I grew up on Cape Cod and never missed an island vacation to somewhere tropical.
2. WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION FOR YOUR COLLECTION? The inspiration for my collection is clean lines, minimalist designs, yet flirty and fashionable. I wanted my suits to be more playful than a simple string tie bikini, yet classy enough for women to feel confident in. When you walk down a beach, you never see women in couture designs, you see them in more simple swimwear. Simple yet stylish looks sell the best! My logo, the compass rose, represents that we are all navigators of our own destiny. I want my customer (Molly J girls) to be her own kind of beautiful and feel like she can walk the beach feeling empowered.
3. WHAT EXOTIC DESTINATION WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO SHOOT A LOOK BOOK PHOTO SHOOT? I would LOVE to shoot in an exotic location like Bali or Fiji! Somewhere that takes you away when you see the images: very tropical with the bluest water and whitest sand.
4. WHO’S YOUR FAVORITE DESIGNER OTHER THAN YOURSELF? My favorite designer other than myself is Tory Burch. I love what she has done with her company and her philanthropic endeavors. Tory Burch has turned her brand into an empire and I admire her as a very smart and savvy business woman. I plan to expand into the athleisure market due to my love of fitness! I would love for the Molly J brand to have no limitations and continue to inspire women to be the best version of themselves.
5. IF YOU WERE NOT CREATING SPECTACULAR BIKINIS, WHAT WOULD YOUR CAREER BE? I just graduated from Bentley University this spring with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sales and Marketing. If I was not starting on my own company, I would probably be working for another company in a sales or marketing role. I have always had big dreams and am trying to create my own destiny. I will also continue to model and act as opportunities present themselves.
6. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN YOUR NEXT COLLECTION? My next collection will continue to evolve my love of design by adding some new styles, alter my old styles slightly, and add some new colors, textures and awesome detail. Stay tuned! 66

I grew up in a Southern California beach town, so swimwear has always been a big player in my closet, and searching for cute bikinis was a year-round endeavor. 2. WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION FOR YOUR COLLECTION ? I Bathing suits can be the epitome of everything fun, carefree, and playful in clothing, so I wanted to create a collection that was just that. This collection is about letting your personality shine through and that being loud, colorful & crazy at the beach is a good thing. I would describe my collection as whimsical, vibrant, functional & youthful.

5. WHAT EXOTIC DESTINATION WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO SHOOT A LOOK BOOK PHOTO SHOOT? The Swiss Alps! I know it’s not the first place you’d think of for a swimwear photo shoot, but I like to mix it up, and I think the vibrant colors contrasting against the white mountains would be dreamy. 6. WHO’S YOUR FAVORITE DESIGNER OTHER THAN YOURSELF ? The Zimmerman sisters, Nicky and Simone. Their resort and swim collections have me mesmerized everytime and their one-pieces are the prefect balance of sophisticated and sweet.
