A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL JAMES CARROLL Dear Concord Hill Families, Thank you all for being part of Concord Hill’s 2016 Auction! Tonight is a celebration of our community; it is a time to have some fun together, and it is a time to show your support for our wonderful school in ways that will ensure Concord Hill’s financial strength. Our school is small by design, and we are fortunate to enjoy a close-knit, intimate community. As a smaller school, we are dependent on funds generated from events like tonight, which allow us to fulfill our mission and deliver all of our programs. Critical to our mission and our future is our ability to have a robust Financial Aid program. Tonight, I would like to particularly draw your attention to the Paddle Raise. I am excited to announce that 100% of the proceeds raised during the Paddle Raise tonight will be used for tuition assistance in our Financial Aid program. For the past three years, CHS families have pledged up to $70,000 during the paddle raise, proving their strong desire to make CHS a school that is accessible to as many children as possible. As Concord Hill’s fourth Head of School, I am deeply committed to expanding our tuition assistance program, which will continue to allow us to welcome students to CHS from a broader range of backgrounds. With your continued generosity, we have been able to grow this program in recent years, but there remains room for extending ourselves further. In doing so, we would be able to bring ourselves into line with our peer independent schools, many of whom are able to build communities which are more socio-economically diverse than ours. So please raise your paddle high to continue our commitment to making a difference in the lives of all our children. Thank you all. This entire evening would not be possible without the huge commitment and tireless work of our extraordinary Auction Chairs Erin Galper, Anna Haglund, Stephanie Lenkin, and Ellen Spiegel. I am extremely grateful to them, and to Blaire Massa and Donna Sturtevant, our outstanding Development team. Have a fabulous evening, everyone!

Auction Fundraising Explained Concord Hill’s Annual Auction not only provides an evening of great fun and real community building, but it is also critically important to our school’s financial strength. As a small, independent school, we depend on the funds generated from this event to maintain our programming and complete our mission. For the past three years, a vital component of this fundraising has been an opportunity to support our growing Financial Aid program at Concord Hill. Beginning in 2013, this generous community has proved its deep commitment to making a CHS education accessible to as many children as possible by pledging generously to the school’s Scholarship Fund through our Paddle Raise for Scholarships. In the past five years, Concord Hill has significantly expanded its tuition assistance program thanks in large part to funds raised at this annual event, and the program relies on this funding each year. This year, the school will award nearly $150,000 in Financial Aid, and it is our goal to raise at least $50,000 of these vital funds during our Paddle Raise. Your contribution makes an enormous impact on the school: not only by helping the families who receive Financial Aid, but also by enriching the learning environment for all of our students by welcoming into our community a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and interests. The community’s commitment to and support of this program exemplifies three of Concord Hill’s five core values: character, community, and respect. Please join us in supporting this important part of our mission by raising your paddle at the 2016 Auction.

Imagination Is... FOUR-PANEL ACRYLIC PAINTING & SET OF 16 NOTECARDS

In September and October 2016, Ms. Henteleff asked each Concord Hill student to help her finish the sentence, “Imagination is….” Mrs. Bennett then worked with each class to create a four-panel acrylic painting imbued with the words, phrases, colors, and patterns inspired by our collective imagination. The finished work can be displayed as a four-piece painting, as a pair, or individually. From the original paintings, we created notecard sets and envelopes adorned with a reproduction of all four panels. Donors: Mrs. Bennett & Ms. Henteleff

No additional bids will be accepted after the close of the Silent Auction.

Live Auction General Rules To bid in the Live Auction, raise your bidder number in the air, with your bid number facing the auctioneer/emcee.
