Editor's NOTE

Dear Impact Readers,

Here we are, at the end of the academic year 2022-2023, looking back on our learning adventure as we eased out of the difficult period of the last couple of years. It is our pleasure to share the highlights of the past few months in this latest issue of Impact - the magazine that keeps you informed on all of the amazing learning, events, activities and service projects that happen at our school while bringing Concordian’s mission and vision to life.

Most recently, Concordian administration, faculty and students paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Suthida on the auspicious occasion of her 45th birthday anniversary. We then share some words of reflection from Hui Hui, one of our graduates this year, and celebrate the achievements of our students at the Burapha Music Contest 2023. We then look back on the brilliant Zanook Fest - a fabulous event for the school community organized entirely by students.

A most wonderful celebration, and an absolute highlight of the year, Songkran brought joy across all sections of the school, each giving the fête a unique twist. Water play for the younger students was fun and refreshing while, in addition to the traditional blessings, Secondary staff and students were treated to the “Legend of Siam” - an extravaganza of breathtaking performances by our students, showcasing the stunningly profound beauty of Thai culture from across the land.

Concordian takes pride in its academic programmes and its commitment to trilingualism, and so we check in with the winners of this year’s PY Chinese Writing Contest and take an in-depth look at the learning journey of our Grade 5 students through their PYP Exhibition - the culmination of all of their hard work in the Primary Years Programme. Keeping the school’s mission in their hearts, our youngest students also do their part in making the world a better place - please read all about the K2 Walkathon which raised a significant amount for the pediatric department at Chonburi Hospital.

Over in Secondary, we have the pleasure of finding out more about the seemingly endless avenues through which our students demonstrate their learning outcomes and incredible talents - Design Exhibition, Talent Show, Chinese Speech competition, Speak! English Public Speaking contest, Grade 10 Personal Project Exhibition, DP Art Exhibition, the Vocal and Instrumental End-of-Year concerts...wow! And let’s not forget our Concordian Dragons Athletics - our sports teams have had a fantastic year, coming back from the difficult times stronger than ever and looking forward to a new year of sporting successes after a well-deserved summer break.

As always, we update you on the phenomenal progress of our service learning teams and the work of the Middle School and High School governments and their achievements during the year. We are once again grateful to the Concordian families who have chosen to share their thoughts about the school and lastly, we highlight the list of university acceptances achieved by the Class of 2023.

Please enjoy this issue of our magazine and have a wonderful summer!
