Concordian Chinese Singing Contest Season 7
The Voice of Concordian Chinese Singing Contest Season 7 helped us to celebrate the Chinese New Year and the Lantern Festival 2023.
The theme of the Voice Season 7 this year was “华灯会 A Festival of Lanterns''. Like so many other Chinese cultural elements, lanterns have a long history dating back to thousands of years ago, in the early Han Dynasty.
Over the centuries, lanterns have become a staple Chinese item, particularly in times of celebration. Lanterns symbolize vitality, good luck, and hope. In the year 2023, we hope everyone will keep a lantern in their heart. A lantern that lightens up your day, gives you hope and courage, and brings you joy.
After auditions, sixteen talented groups were selected to compete in the Voice Finale on the 3rd of February 2023. They all had impressive vocal strength and beautiful voices. They had good musical accuracy when singing high and low notes. Their stage presence was a result of their inner confidence and, of course, tremendous practice. Through the competition they pushed each other to rise to a higher level!
We would like to express our appreciation to all of our judges from the auditions to the finale: Mr. Mark, Mr. Roxy, Ms. Jing, Ms. Jenifer, Ms. Dessy, Ms. Sally, Mr. Laurent, and our student judge Kyla, Grade 11, who won the Best Voice award in the very first Voice Season 1 seven years ago and returned to the Voice this year as a judge. She is a wonderful role model for younger students. A special thanks to our Finale judges for their surprise performance.

Congratulations to the following students who won the Good Voice Awards: Kade G1D, Morris G1I, Nikki G2D, Hana G2D, Pisa G4C, Peang-or G4C, Tun Tun G4S and Yada G4S.
Congratulations to Times G4I who won the Golden Voice Plaque Award. He has won the Best Voice awards consecutively for three years in a row since G2!
A great show can only be done with a professional team. And this team is our outstanding PY Chinese departmentall the Chinese teachers, teaching assistants and support teachers spent long days over many weeks to ensure the success of the event. We thank Khun Pavida who created all the graphic designs and coordinated the event alongside me; we also thank Khun Thida for coordinating the facility and stage set, Khun Game on behalf of the IT team and Khun Ying on behalf of the maintenance team.
We look forward to the Voice of Concordian Chinese Singing Contest Season 8 next year!
