On Wednesday, November 16th from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Key Club will be hosting a service event at the Food Bank (4010 Nelson Ave, Concord). Although there are only limited spots available for this event, it is strongly recommended that you attend. If you choose to attend, remember to wear a mask and closed-toe shoes to keep safe and sanitary! Not only has this been a fulfilling volunteering opportunity as you can make time to help others, you truly become connected with your community as you work alongside your fellow red devils and even Kiwanis!

Scare Away Hunger

Scare Away Hunger is a yearly event hosted in October to help households struggling with food insecurity. What is food insecurity you may wonder, it is defined as “a household-level economic and social condition of limited or uncertain access to adequate food. ” By participating in this event, you will be making a difference to provide for hungry children and families. The week prior to Halloween, volunteers will be distributing food bank bags to your group’s designated neighborhoods. On Halloween, volunteers will be returning to the same neighborhoods and collecting those bags.

Monthly Advocacy

For the month of October, Concord High’s Key club will be hosting a month-long service event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Breast cancer is a disease in which cancer cells form in the tissues of the breast. Data shows that 1 in 8 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, moreover, close to 45 thousand women die yearly from breast cancer in the US. To show your support for patients, survivors, and breast cancer altogether, please wear pink at each club meeting to raise awareness for breast cancer during the month of October! Spirit Social #3

Spirit socials are a requirement in order to attend FRN. We strongly encourage you to memorize our Division Cheers to ensure that our division is well prepared to win at FRN! Members must have participated in at least two spirit socials held by our Spirit Coordinators. This LAST DIVISION SOCIAL is coming up soon! Keep in mind that this is a division social and NOT a service event. Attending will not earn you service hours but will let you connect with even more people! It will also add onto Member of the Month/Year qualifications!
