Slavery: the exploitation of our fellow humans has happened many times throughout history, but I can’t help thinking the American slavery of the 1800s could never have happened if new technology wasn’t developed that shrank our world and allowed us to get to Africa.
It wouldn’t have ever been possible to have 2 world wars if we weren’t such a global society. Before the invention of aircrafts there were only wars between places which are relatively close to each other.
However there have been many ways in which our shrinking world has helped us......

India was made independent in 1947
Botswana gained independence in 1966 and has since flourished through tourism and diamond mining. Zambia gained independence from Britain in 1964.
Knowledge: Globalisation is providing answers as well as problems.
