About the notes

W

hat you will find on the following pages, are a series of technically easy-to-do effects that have accompanied me during the last few years. But nothing is written at random. With the following effects, I try to express the important thing at the moment of performing a work of art is not its value, but what the artist delivers to it. The artist is much more important than its play. The magician is much more important than the trick itself. And the person is much more important than the magician. I’m going to expose a few theoretical lines, that will barely fill in an entire page, as an explanatory introduction of what this notes will be about. I’ll try to pass the rest of the theory on the tricks themselves, as I think it reflects much better what I want to say in each moment. Because of that, I encourage the reader not to see the effects as simple easy-to-do tricks, but to delve in a bit deeper and not getting fooled by its “simplicity”. I also want to comment that none of the effects require a special setup, being able to perform them one after the other. On the worst case, we would just need setting up one or two cards. They’re ideal to perform “with a borrowed deck”. Without any further due, I just hope you enjoy and take full advantage of this notes. Only this will make worth writing this lines. Step inside and read! Dani DaOrtiz 7
