Mystic Recital

This is a highly intriguing trick most suitable for certain spots such as the bar, around the table or anywhere friends assemble. It can also be adapted for club work if the cards are enlarged. The wonder worker tosses out a handful of cards. Each card has a drawing of an object. On the reverse side of the card is a letter of the alphabet The wonder worker asks someone to mix the cards and lay them on the table in any order he chooses so only the drawing side shows. Now while the performer looks another way, the helper concentrates on one of the drawings and then picks it up and notes the letter of alphabet on the reverse side. This is laid amongst the rest again. The performer now starts to touch or rather tap the different drawings and the helper is asked to start reciting the letters of the alphabet until he reaches "Z". He starts his recitation from the next letter of the alphabet to the one he noted secretly on his drawing and the recitation is done by him silently. Strange as it may seem the moment he comes to "Z" you will be touching the identical drawing he has in mind. You repeat this two or three times and then say that you are going to make it even more mysterious. This time you bring out another handful of cards from another pocket. These are blank on one side but the other side just has the different letters of the alphabet. You ask someone else to lay the cards on the table with the blank side showing. Now ask him to turn over one card and note the letter of the alphabet. This time he is to recite the letters of the alphabet as before but up to the one he had just noted. When he reaches it you would again be lapping the very same drawing be had secretly chosen. What yon need: Get 26 visiting cards. On the first 16 you draw the following ' objects: ( 9 ) IDOL ( 1 ) ARROW (10) BOAT JUG (2) ( 3 ) CAP (11) KETTLE (12) LOTA ( 4 ) DAGGEB ( 1 3 ) MOUSE TRAP ( 5 ) EGG (14) NET ( 6 ) FAN ( 7 ) GUN (1*5) ONION ( 1 6 ) PEN ( 8 ) HAT Now lay the 16 drawings in a stack beginning with the ARROW and ending with the PEN. This means the Arrow is the first card laid, on that ftoes the Boat then the CAP and so on until you lay the last one, i.e , the PEN. right on top. Now take the topmost card, i.e , the PEN and behind it write the letter "A". Take the ONION card and write "B" on the reverse side. Take the
