Leblanc Vito clarinets were named after the founder of Leblanc USA, Vito Pascucci. Leblanc student instruments have always been sensitive to the needs of developing students. These clarinets are designed with medium large bore to help students easily achieve a big, well controlled, sound. The P.R.A.G. helps students properly align the bridge mechanism, a tricky part of the instrument to align. Vito clarinets are built to last, so they are ideal for young clarinetists.
The Selmer 1400B clarinet is designed to be free blowing, allowing students to produce a full sound.
CL201
Based on the original designs of George Bundy’s student clarinets, Selmer clarinets offer construction that is built to last a lifetime. Combining durable drop forged nickel silver keys, straight cut tone holes, and an unstained Grenadilla wood body, these instruments will hold up year after year.

What began in 1885 as a small shop in Paris where Henri Selmer hand made reeds and then mouthpieces, Selmer Paris has grown into one of the foremost manufacturers of musical instruments known for their excellent craftsmanship, flexibility of voice and the intention of best serving the artistic sensibilities of the world’s best musicians. Among those musical greats that have made Selmer Paris their choice of voice are Benny Goodman, John Coltrane, Maurice AndrÊ, Anthony Gigliotti and Michael Brecker.
B16SIG
Professionals worldwide praise the Signature clarinet for its depth of sound and uniformly dark, clear tone quality in all ranges and dynamics. Playing with slightly more resistance than the other Selmer clarinets, the Signature requires a more efficient and free-blowing set-up. After adjusting and balancing your mouthpiece and reed you will find even the softest pianissimos respond with less embouchure effort. With the Signature you concentrate on making music instead of struggling with the instrument.

AS42M Begun originally as a distribution arm of the Henri Selmer Co. of Paris, The Selmer company was left in the able hands of American George Bundy when Alexandre Selmer was called back to France to help with the operations of the growing business. While continuing in its role of North American distributor for all things Selmer Paris, Bundy and the new Selmer Company moved quickly into manufacturing and began branching into expertise in other instruments through work with artisans such as George W. Haynes and Kurt Gemeinhart. As Elkhart, Indiana, had established a reputation as the band instrument capital of the United States, the company was moved there. American industry in the 1940s prospered from advancements in efficient and economical production methods and the newly developed field of plastics. Selmer combined these factors in 1948 to produce one of the first commercially successful molded clarinets--the Bundy Resonite速 model 1400. The 1400 was patterned after the famous Selmer (Paris) BT clarinet, used by such great artists as Benny Goodman. The Bundy Resonite clarinet launched a revolution in affordable, high quality musical instruments and established Selmer as an industry leader. That leadership remains today not only with the 1400 but a full line of affordable, high quality woodwind instruments still made in Elkhart, Indiana.

Handmade in Japan by specialized artisan craftsmen, the Yanagisawa saxophone is the epitome of perfection on intonation, ergonomics & build quality. Yanagisawa specializes in only manufacturing handmade professional saxophones. They offer some of the best values on the planet for a professional sax.
SC9930
Keeping brass on the bow and bell help prevent the SC9930 horn from being as bright as a solid sterling silver horn, but still gives some of the desired characteristics of sterling silver. This soprano is a beautifully designed and finely crafted saxophone. Its increased neck angle gives it richer tone and makes it more capable of aggressive playing. The bell keys have been moved to the right side of the bell and the left hand pinky mechanism has been improved to a modern style cluster like current altos.

The story of the Conn trumpets ultimately begins in 1875 with the vision and determination of one man: Colonel C.G. Conn. Founding a band instrument manufacturing company in the small town of Elkhart, Indiana, Conn quickly became known for his innovative brass designs and became the largest producer of trombones in the United States and earned the lasting reputation as “America’s trombone house.” Conn trumpets are recognized for their unique tone color and refusal to “break up” even at the most extreme dynamics making it one of the most versatile trumpets in the world. Vincent Bach combined his unique talents as both a musician and an engineer to create brass instruments of unequaled tonal quality – instruments which today remain the sound choice of artists worldwide. Born Vincent Schrotenbach in Vienna in 1890, he initially received training on the violin, then switched to the trumpet when he heard its majestic sound. Although Vincent also displayed a strong aptitude for science and graduated from the Maschinenbauschule with an engineering degree, he gave up a promising engineering career to pursue his first love and an uncertain future as a musician. The risk paid off. Performing under the stage name of Vincent Bach, he established musical success as he toured throughout Europe.

C Trumpet
World War I forced Vincent’s move to New York City where he arrived with only $5.00 in his pocket. A letter to the famous conductor Karl Muck got Vincent an audition and a resulting position with the Boston Symphony. By the following season, Vincent was first trumpet in the Metropolitan Opera House opera and ballet orchestras, performing in the American premiere of Stravinsky’s Petrushka, The Firebird. While on tour in Pittsburgh, Vincent was convinced by a repairman that he could improve the mouthpiece on Vincent’s trumpet. After the man ruined the mouthpiece, Vincent had great difficulty finding a suitable replacement. This was the beginning of Vincent’s realization of the very real need for high-quality mouthpieces. His discovery was further substantiated when, during the World War, Vincent served as sergeant and bandmaster of the 306th Army Field Artillery Band at Camp Union, Long Island. As head of the bugle school, Vincent found both mouthpieces and instruments to be of inferior quality. While on furloughs, Vincent went to New York City where he remodeled old mouthpieces and made new ones in a back room of the Selmer Music Store. In 1918, while performing part-time at the Rivoli Theater, Bach invested $300 for a foot-operated lathe and an office at 11 East 14th Street to begin the business of producing mouthpieces. The business grew rapidly and, in 1924, the first Bach trumpets were manufactured. Musicians frequently referred to a Bach trumpet as a real ‘Stradivarius’ of a trumpet, thus inspiring the brand name Bach Stradivarius. Bach trombones followed in 1928. At the age of 71 in 1961, Bach decided to sell his company. Although he received twelve other offers, including some that were higher, Vincent chose to sell to The Selmer Company. His close relationship with Selmer over the years convinced Vincent that this was the company that would preserve the Bach tradition of excellence and expand upon the foundations he built. All tooling and machinery was moved from Mount Vernon, New York, to Selmer’s operations in Elkhart, Indiana, with Vincent assisting in the training. True to Vincent’s vision, Conn-Selmer, Inc. painstakingly follows Bach’s original designs and blueprints to manufacture Bach Stradivarius instruments, the sound choice of professionals.

Josh Brown Conn-Selmer Artist, a two-time recipient of the Canada Council for the Arts Grant, and was a semi-finalist in the 2003 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trombone competition.
With the help of Mr. Thomas King, a local trombone player in Cleveland, Ohio, H.N. White developed his first trombone in 1894 which was viewed in the market as a “revelation” to the music world due to radically different bell, bore and mouthpipe designs than those of other current prevailing models. Players loved the “King” trombone because the slide was finer, smoother, and lighter in action than any other. Since 1894 the King name has been synonymous with world-class high quality brass instruments. World renown artists, the likes of Tommy Dorsey, Ziggy Elman, Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, Charlie "The Bird" Parker, and Harry James, all trusted King as their choice of musical instrument. Built in Eastlake, Ohio, today's King professional trombones draw from that musical heritage and continue to set the standard for today's small bore jazz trombones. With a pedigree like no other, King trombones continue to be the choice of jazz artists the world over.

In 1918, while performing part-time at the Rivoli Theater, Bach invested $300 for a footoperated lathe and an office at 11 East 14th Street to begin the business of producing mouthpieces.

Frank Holton & Co. began started manufacturing during the late 1800’s in a third floor shop in Chicago. As a trombonist for the Sousa Band, he quickly branched out production to all instruments, but became well known for his low brass instruments. In 1964, upon Frank Holton’s death, the company was sold to the G. Leblanc Corporation. This alliance helped establish the company’s position, as a premier French horn manufacturer. Partnerships with key performers such as Philip Farkas and Ethel Merker were made and Holton French horns grew a wide following for their consistent performance at all dynamic ranges and their quality American construction. This positioned the brand as a cornerstone to institutional performance in high school and college bands around the world. Today these instruments are built under the same master craftsmen as the C.G. Conn brand with the same attention to design and detail that made them accepted.

JD Shaw Conn-Selmer Artist, Associate Professor of Horn at the University of South Carolina and was, formerly, the French hornist with the internationally acclaimed Boston Brass where he was creative director, music arranger and co-owner of the ensemble.
V8DS
The Vintage 8D offers a lightweight, annealed bell that provides response and tone characteristics similar to that of Elkhart-built 8D’s - large, dark orchestral sound and quick response. These qualities are further enhanced by the annealed mouthpipe and first branch. Parts are assembled as “stress-free as possible by focusing attention on component fit. This process is aided with the use of multiple-piece bracing that ensures precise fit while at the same time, minimizes tension. Other classic elements include soldered-on bead rings and vintage style rotor caps that help distinguish this horn.
8D
The Conn 8D maintains a design that makes the horn very responsive and free-blowing with excellent tonal balance. Its traditional large throat bell and all nickel construction give a beautiful, dark sound with rich depth. The clear lacquer finish provides a subtle warmth to the overall sound.

9D
The Conn 9D offers a great alternative to the 8D. It maintains the 8D design that makes the horn very responsive and free-blowing with excellent tonal balance. However, it offers a medium throat nickel silver bell for more resistance and control while maintaining a beautiful, dark sound with rich depth. The clear lacquer finish provides a subtle warmth to the overall sound.
10DE The 10DE has a small throat which provides control and focus of sound which helps in chamber, solo, and orchestral settings. This horn features a Geyer style wrap with a more open style F branch which helps open up the sound. An adjustable finger hook helps the performer be comfortable while performing. This horn also features vintage style valve caps and dual water keys.

Pr ofes s ion al C. G. Co nn Fre nc h Ho r ns 11DE
The 11DE has a medium throat which provides control and focus of sound which helps in chamber, solo, and orchestral settings. It is slightly more open playing than the 10DE version. This horn features a Geyer style wrap with a more open style F branch which helps open up the sound. An adjustable finger hook helps the performer be comfortable while performing. This horn also features vintage style valve caps and dual water keys.
11DRES
The 11DRES has a medium throat which provides control and focus of sound which helps in chamber, solo, and orchestral settings. This model features a bronze brass detachable bell. It is slightly more open playing than the 10DE version. This horn features a Geyer style wrap with a more open style F branch which helps open up the sound. An adjustable finger hook helps the performer be comfortable while performing. This horn also features vintage style valve caps and dual water keys.
12D
The Conn descant horn is designed for versatility, the 12D features a muting valve for stopped horn notes and a removable “H” section for transposing to the key of “E”. The medium throat yellow brass bell produces a full sound and is closer in feel to larger horns while still maintaining upper register clarity and control.

The Glaesel family story begins in 1720 during the lifetime of Stradivari and Matthias Klotz. This span of over 250 years exceeds the entire Italian Cremona tradition that produced Stradivari. While the family seat has always been in Markneukirchen, a center for instrument craftsmanship, generations of Glaesels have studied at the famous Mittenwald school.

Kurt G. Glaesel (born 1926) studied at Mittenwald under the direction of Matthias Klotz (a direct descendant of the original). After working in a number of prominent shops in Holland, Switzerland, and Germany, he came to the United States in 1953. Here he established “shop adjusting, the process by which imported instruments are assembled, finished, and tested for consistency and strict adherence to quality standards. Today, Conn-Selmer continues the Glaesel tradition and quality through shop manager, Tim Masterson, who studied directly with Kurt Glaesel Each Glaesel instrument gets a meticulous shop adjustment in our Cleveland, Ohio facility.

William Lewis was born in Devonshire, England in 1837. His family moved to the U.S.A. and settled around Bellvue Ohio in 1850. William was quickly recognized as a violin prodigy at just 8 years old. He soon was performing with orchestras throughout the country including the Chicago Symphony. He became a highly sought after violin teacher and as a result became concerned by the lack of quality instruments available to his students. To help solve this, in 1874 he created the Chicago Music Company. This shop was a favorite stop to touring and aspiring violinists due to the large collection of valuable violins and bows on display at the store. After a few name changes to the business, in 1896 it became William Lewis & Son. After Willam’s death, his son Fred continued the business. Conn-Selmer is pleased to present the very recognized and respected brand of William Lewis and Son.
