ACCESS TO WATER AROUND THE WORLD IS A PROBLEM

Water is one of the most precious resources on the planet. Water is needed for survival. People without access to clean drinking water become ill, miss out on school, make less money, and can even die from water borne disease.

Connect Global has long valued water and it' s inherently basic importance to all of life. We have experienced seeing people who struggle at best to obtain enough water for their family and at worst become ill because of the lack of access to this much needed commodity.

We have endeavored to take on clean water initiatives across Honduras since 2006. Together we have been able to provide clean drinking water to thousands over the years but there is so much work still to be done in providing clean drinking water along with basic sanitation.

Our most recent undertaking is addressing the sustainability of clean water access at Las Huellas Del Maestro a school we recently became financial stewards of (which Danielle Mendoza talks more about in a segment on education in this issue).

Las Huellas Del Maestro School has a shallow water well on the property that is in need of maintenance and

With our National Director, Jorge Amador, we created a multi phase plan to address the water issues at the school.

Due to the pandemic kids are still mostly attending school virtually. Our teaching staff is working from the school in a socially distanced capacity.

NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME TO MAKE THE NEEDED ADJUSTMENTS, REPAIRS, AND UPGRADES.

We have started out with a brand new reservoir for holding clean water that is captured from local sources.

Next, we will be looking at maintenance and plumbing upgrades for the current well. We will need to look at providing a thorough cleaning of the system, a new pump, and a softener/filter to clean out the heavy metals that are present.

OUR CURRENT PLAN WILL BRING FRESH, CLEAN, WATER TO OVER 200 STUDENTS AND STAFF.

As we attack this issue one step at a time, we get closer to providing life giving water to so many. It not only will solve the issues of thirst but also provide for improved hygiene of all on property and proper sanitation of bathrooms.

You can be a prt of the solution by giving monthly towards this project and our many other plans to bring clean water access to our friends and neighbors across Honduras.

A gift of just $10 a month will help provide clean water for one student!
