MOTHERS CARING FOR MOTHERS

We have had the honor and privilege of meeting, knowing, and now employing many wonderful women in our over 17 years of travel and service to the nation of Honduras.

They are mothers, wives, sisters, teachers, directors, and so much more. We have been blessed to be able to form a team of strong, hardworking women who care for the mothers at the Maternity Home in LA Ceiba and we could not be more proud of the amazing, selfless work they do every single day.

We are inspired by their dedication to the way they care for the individual mothers who come to stay with us at the Maternity Home. The mothers in our care are there because their children are fighting to survive in the NICU and our team is able to provide care in the way of hot meals, clean showers, and additional medical attention, testing, and financial support.

Our team at times is able to provide care in the way of being shoulders to cry on and someone to pray with.

We have seen many miracles at the Maternity Home.

Blanca and her son stayed in the Maternity Home with us for 17days and as Anyel was fighting for his life the prognosis wasthat he would not make it. The hospital prescribed transportinghim and his mother to a larger hospital 3 hours away as the lasteffort at saving his life. This trip is typically a very last resort as itis especially arduous and many babies don't survive the trip.

Our team was praying and invited other mothers who were staying with us to pray as well.

Blanca called back relieved to share that despite the complications, Anyel did, in fact, survive the trip and after a long-fought battle and more specialized treatments he was going to be released from the hospital. This news brought immense joy to Blanca, our team, and the other mothers at the Maternity Home who were praying for this miracle.

Last year we were able to host a celebration at the Maternity Home marking the milestone of having cared for 1000 mothers. At that time Blanca and Her son who was then almost 1 year old were in attendance and we were able to hold him and celebrate together along with several more beautiful mothers and their children who have been served through this ministry.
