Day Zero, Wednesday 25 November Theme: Teachers & Students’ arrival in Taiwan Participants: Teachers & students from the UK and East Asia countries Teachers and students (UK & EA countries) arrive at Taiwan and travel to six provinces respectively. The province that they go to is based on the theme they chose. Below please find the theme for each province. 

Global Citizenship: Hualien County

Climate Change: Tainan City

Sports and Health: Taipei City

Environmental Science: Kaohsiung City

Tomorrow’s World: Taipei County

Science and Invention: Changhua County

There will be a British Council Taipei City officer accompanying each group to each area of Taiwan who will be your main point of contact for the period of November 25th-27th.

Day One, Thursday 26 November Theme: Teaching and Learning Day Participants: all teachers and students Time: 08:00-17:00 Venue: Taipei City, Taipei County, Changhua County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, or Hualien County, depending the themes students and teachers choose. Activities: The lead school is planning the community activities or filed trips related to the theme.

Day Two, Friday 27 November Theme: Teaching and Learning Day Participants: all teachers and students Time: 08:00-17:00 Venue: same as Day One Activities: 

Morning: Teachers & Students start programme of team teaching and learning in schools in 6 areas of Taiwan. The activities will be organised by the local authority and schools.

Afternoon: Teaching and learning programme continues.

Evening: Teachers and students travel to Chientan Youth Activity Centre, Taipei City

Day Three, Saturday 28 November Theme: International Cooperation Day Event I: Teachers’ Professional Training Workshops MoE, Republic of China invites senior lecturers from UK & EA countries to lead the workshops Time: 09:00-17:15 Venue: Teaching Hall, Chientan Youth Activity Centre, Taipei City Participants: Teachers from UK and East Asia countries Format: workshops with parallel sessions

Event II: International Expo’ on Global Citizenship & Learning (Preparation Day) International Expo’ on Global Citizenship & Learning led by UK & EA Students – Students organise Partner-fair-style stands to show the work they have done throughout 2009 with fun learning activities for parents and children
