The values underpin the games as a set of universal principle. Each Olympic & Paralympic value has its own value in sports and in owr life too.
Great Britain was one of the 14 teams to complete in the first games,and the 1896 Olympics, and has completed at every game. Athletes representing Great Britain has won 715 medals at the Summer Olympis , and another 22 at the Winter Olympic games. Great Britaini the only team to have won atleast one gold medal at every summer game.Britain has co-hosted the1984 Olympics &Paralympic and now It is going to host the next olympic &paralympic in June2012. The seven Olympic &Paralympic Values teach us the fair way to live.The values are as undersigned: *Friendship - builds a peaceful & better world through sportS. It promotes sport as an opportunity for teamwork, camaraderie and mutual understanding among individuals from all over the world, despite the differences. *Respect - stands for keeping true to one's integrity , engaging in fair play & fighting against doping. *Excellence - meant by giving one's best , on the field of play or in life. It is not only about winning , but also about participating. *Determination - reveals that self-determined people can achieve anything, even if they are terrible at that. *Inspiration - makes a feeling to inspire themselves from their ups & downs of life. And make remember that ,"Whatever we treasure for ourselves separates from others". *Courage - "You can't cross the sea merely standing & staring at the water".To cross any hurdle courage is most important element. *Equality - builds a spirit of equality, without any differences based on physical appearence or any disability. The Olympics & Paralympics are not just sporting excellence but are much more than that. The important thing is not winning but taking part and doing well.
