A Paradise In The Waters Of Atlantic (XA), New Era Senior Secondary School It is a city where dreams meet reality, a place where love and kindness portrays itself. It is a city where history and technology come together to form a huge array of jaw dropping incidents and yet it is a city where sportsmanship comes as solidarity towards a hugely diverse population. It is, without any doubt, London.. The kingdom of a glorious past, an envious present and a rich future. A place so fondly, so respectfully called The United Kingdom. With vast numbers of destinations to choose from, the Great Britain and The City provide a giant collection of tourist places which attract people from across the globe. From traditional places like Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace, to colorful places like the Trafalgar Square and Madame Tussauds, then to exciting landmarks like the London eye, this city has it all. While one research claims the Stonehenge to be the top place to see in UK before you die, the other claims it to be the Tower Bridge. The ultimate result: UK houses an entirely new world of tourism spanning from the Cruit Island in Ireland to the Snowdonia Mountains and Coast in Wales and from the Loch Ness in Scotland to the beautiful museums in England. There only might be a few who may have missed the greatness of Romeo and Juliet and the fierceness of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. British literature prides itself having names like Jane Austen, the very famous Lewis Carol, Oscar Wilde. Poets like D.H Lawrence, William Wordsworth, and to the more recent award winning novel series of J.K Rowling. Just like the culture and cuisine of London and the UK, the people here are boldly diverse too. Both the Kingdom and The City is broken down, to expose a colorful mix of Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean & cultures among the very own indigenous ones. In a few weeks, London is going to become a bookmarked page in the novels of history when it will become the only city to have hosted the Olympic Games thrice in its lifetime. Sports runs in the entire kingdom like blood through the human body. According to a survey conducted by Sports England "6.927 million people aged 16 and above play sports at least thrice a week in England". It is thus no real surprise when 42 famous football clubs call London their home and several others including those from Scotland, Wales and Ireland are housed in the UK. There is just around 130 days left for the final showdown on 27th July 2012. The heartbeats are already rising and carpets are being spread. Such is the warmth of London and the United Kingdom that each one of us will be welcomed with open arms and cheerful thoughts. “ “You find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”- Samuel Jackson Very true, Mr. Jackson and that is why we call London and of course, The United Kingdom, paradises near the waters of the Atlantic. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the heaven on earth! **********************************
