Travel Guidelines - 2009 International Education Expo’ Attendees *PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES CAREFULLY*
2009 International Education Expo’ will be held in Taiwan from 26 Nov. to 29 Nov. Appreciate your participation in making the Expo’ possible. British Council Taipei wishes to make all attendees’ travel to and from the Expo’ as easy as possible and is happy to provide assistance in determining the most convenient method of travel. Have a pleasant journey.
Arrival & Departure Recommended arrival time: 09:00 a.m. ~ 15:00 p.m. 25 Nov. Recommended departure time: 09:00 a.m. ~ 15:00 p.m. 30 Nov. Early arrivals: We don’t expect attendees to arrive early before 25 Nov. This may cause other expenses such as hotel room charge and F&B fees. However, UK attendees may need to take more time to recover from jet lag. They may arrive a day early. To avoid possible flight delays, please do avoid flights that arrive late on 25 Nov. Otherwise attendees may not get enough rest. Airport information There are three major airports in Taiwan. You may land at the nearest one to shorten travel time but it depends on flight timetable. We suggest you talk to local travel agency for flight advice. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport: This is the biggest airport in Taiwan. All attendees can land at this airport. Kaohsiung International Airport: Attendees joining Tainan City and Kaohsiung City areas may land at this airport. Taipei Songshan airport: Attendees joining Taipei City, Taipei County, and Hualien County areas may land at this airport.

Ground Transportation & Lodging Upon arrival at Taiwan’s airport, British Council Taipei will be responsible for arranging attendees’ transportation and accommodations in Taiwan. However, we are not in charge of those bookings out of Taiwan. If attendees need to stay overnight in their local cities, you may need to help make hotel and transportation arrangements. Those charges may be reimbursed by British Council, depending cases from cases.
If attendees plan any travel before or after the Expo’, they need to arrange their own Itineraries. We will not arrange and pay for personal trips.
