GRID

The Grid is used to organize nature and create a sense of order. The grid puts elements in relation to one another and exploits certain compositional elements that stand out from the grid and its elemental counterparts. In the abstracted grid drawing of the Lovell Beach House, the grid helped connect the edges of planes. In the grid analysis of Le Corbusier’s L’Unité d’Habitation, the grid helped coordinate and distinguish the organization of the front window layout.
