Conqs Head to Four Year Schools Dodge City, KS (5/5/2011) - Four members of the Dodge City Community College men’s basketball team have signed to continue their basketball careers at four year institutions. Three Conquistador sophomores will move on the NCAA Division II and NAIA schools. Matt Heydman has signed with University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. "Matt is the versatile player that I've been looking for," said Coach Russ Caton. "We expect him to play any and every position for us. His basketball skill, athleticism, and work ethic are going to make him a very exciting player to watch." The Cougars are a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and went 9-17 on the season. Yves Saintelo has signed with Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, OK. Saintelo averaged 7.6 ppg and 4.3 rpg for the Conquistadors in his only season at Dodge City. Northwest Oklahoma went 22-11 this past season and is currently transitioning from the NAIA to NCAA Division II status. Koury Clayton has signed with Southwestern College in Winfield, KS. Clayton averaged 6.0 ppg and 3.0 rpg in his only season as a Conquistador. The Moundbuilders with 16-12 this past season and are a member of the KCAC Freshman Aaron Williams has signed with NCAA Division I school Chicago State. Williams, who averaged 7.6 ppg and 7.2 rpg, will returning to his hometown of Chicago to play in the Great West Conference . This past season the Cougars went 6-26. With these four signings, the Conquistador basketball team has had five players from the 2010-2011 squad signed with four year schools. Sophomore Bruce Massey signed with Middle Tennessee State during the early signing period in November.
