In this workshop, we will explore strategies and key concepts related to assessing student performance in language courses. We will begin by delving into the ACTFL proficiency guidelines and performance indicators. The presenter will then provide an overview of Integrated Performance Assessments, as well as examples of tasks targeting each of the three communication modes. Lastly, we will discuss key aspects of effective rubrics and special considerations for assessment in fully online language classes.
Florencia G. Henshaw has a PhD in Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she is now the Director of Advanced Spanish.
