Retail Opportunity Lidl Ireland plan 81 Store Extensions

Lidl Ireland are currently in the process of a nationwide upgrade of their supermarket store network. The German retailer has almost 90 store upgrades either underway or in the planning pipeline. Much of the works include extensions to existing facilities with floor areas on each site averaging 150 Sq M. and construction costs per site estimated at an average of €131 K. Overall our estimate is that the construction costs of these upgrades/extensions will reach €11 Million.

According to our most recent research Lidl Ireland have also sought permission for a new headquarters to be located in Tallaght, Dublin 24. This project is planned to be of a significant size and our estimate on construction cost is €34 Million. Further details on these schemes are available to CIS members via iCIS our Online Database of all construction activity. Non CIS Members can register here for a FREE trial/Demo

Renewable Energy Projects 452 Wind Turbines Granted Permission - €550 Million According to our recent research there are currently 35 individual planning applications granted for 452 wind turbines throughout Ireland North and South. The combined estimated construction value for these schemes comes close to €550 Million and underlines the value of the renewable energy sector to the construction sector going into the future.

With a further 149 Wind Farm projects in the planning pipeline this sector is likely to prove significant to the construction sector.
