The estimated construction cost of this project is â‚Ź12.2 million.
Description Development of new state of the art administration, sports, social, religious, heritage and recreational facilities at this 5.29 ha. (13.06 acre) site. The site is currently occupied by an institutional building (known as the former St. Josephs School for deaf boys) and other associated buildings including a collection of single storey hipped roof structures to the north and north east of the main building, a two storey and part single storey former infirmary building and a temporary single storey schoolbuilding currently occupied by Colaiste Mhuire to the east as well as a single storey school building to the south. The proposed development, which has a total gross floor area of 6,687 sq.m., consists of the following: (i) The demolition of all existing buildings on the site with the exception of the retention of the Colaiste Mhuire School building and the southwestern (chapel) wing of the former St. Josephs School building. The retained chapel wing will be fully refurbished to accommodate 1,731 sq.m. gross floor area of new administration, short term parent and visitor accommodation and heritage uses including an exhibition space, a life long learning centre and a library. To serve the new facilities within the retained chapel wing a new passenger lift will be installed within the existing stairwell and an external steel and glass escape stair (69 sq.m.) is to be added to the east face, (ii) The construction of a new two storey and part single storey building with a gross floor area of 4,815 sq.m.

This building will accommodate administration, sports, social and religious uses including a new swimming pool, sports hall, gymnasium, chapel, multi-purpose hall, lounge, cafe and meetings. A stand-alone single storey storage building (72 sq.m.) will also be constructed to the north west of the proposed new main structure; (iii) The replacement of the existing football pitches on the site with two new football pitches and six all weather 5-a-side pitches served by floodlighting; (iv) The minor stepping back of piers and gate at existing vehicular entrance from Ratoath Road to facilitate the construction of a new vehicular entrance to the site including entrance gates via an upgraded roundabout arrangement at the junction of Ratoath Road and DrumcliffeRoad; (v) The provision of a total of 158 no. car parking spaces within a new car park adjacent to the Ratoath Road entrance to the site. 2 no. additional disabled parking spaces and a drop off area will also be provided adjacent to the proposed new administration, sports and social building; (vi) All hard and soft landscaping, sub stations, sustainable energy technologies (including solar panels), drainage, internal switch rooms, waste management facilities and all associated site development works.
