Welcome to the CIS Newsletter Focus on Schools Proje ct s Dear Sir/Madam, In this newsletter we focus our attention on the opportunities within the schools building sector. My colleague Scott Delaney has compiled an in-depth report on the €36 million of projects contained within the 'Summer Works Schools Projects' 2014. Further details are provided in the short article below as well as a link to download a comprehensive report on these projects. We have also analysed the volumes new applications and decisions granted for schools projects during the first quarter of the past 3 years including volume, value and regional spread of granted schemes in Ireland year-to-date. As always we are happy to include 5 free key projects in the schools sector for you to view. We always welcome your feedback and would be happy to hear from you at any stage via info@cisireland.com Sincerely Gerard Chadwick

The successful schools who applied to be considered under the scheme will see works to improve mechanical, electrical and gas work elements of their school buildings. A second round of works including access, toilet, roof and window improve- ments is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. These first round works are expected to commence in July 2014 and to be completed in time for this years’ September term. With an overall allocation of €36 million, CIS have estimated that each of the projects represent a €50k - €100k contract value. The Minister also added that, “these projects will stimulate economic activity by supporting 2,160 direct jobs and 430 indirect construction jobs in the local economy”. This year, almost €470 million will be invested in school building infrastructure under the school building and modernisation programme. Feel free to get involved!
