Welcome to the CIS Newsletter Dear Sir/Madam, Welcome to our latest Newsletter! In this edition we look at the Hotels sector and focus on the volume of projects that have been submitted for approval since the beginning of this year. We also illustrate the volume of new hotel schemes approved planning permission so far in 2011. In a sector that seems well stocked already it is curious to see that a further 80 New Hotel schemes have been submitted to the local authorities for approval so far in 2011. With 56 such projects already granted full permission this year perhaps some questions can be asked about the current hotel building stock and where the opportunity lies with these.

Dublin hotel sector to grow this year and next by RTE - Business A new study says the hotel sector in Dublin has turned the corner and will grow this year and next year, helped by the beginning of a turnaround in the tourism sector. The analysis by PwC forecasts that occupancy will rise from 67.1% last year to 71.2% this year, with more modest growth in 2012 bringing the figure to 73.2%.

Planning permission for 34 new bedrooms at the Fitzwilliam Hotel was granted during the summer, and owner Michael Holland is hoping that the expansion will start in early 2013. ‘‘The market that we are operating in is very fragile, but we are confident in our plans," said general manager Fergal O’Connell.
