Starting this year, we are thrilled to co-present our signature clinical conference in partnership with the Contraceptive Technology team of clinical experts. Women’s Health Update is a nationally recognized conference for busy health professionals seeking continued education, best practices, and current clinical guidelines for providing quality sexual and reproductive health care in diverse health settings. 9:00 - 12:00 Preconference A | IUD Placement + Removal (Rx = 3 hrs.) Practicum participants will receive background information and learn placement techniques for five intrauterine devices currently available: Mirena®, PARAGARD®, Skyla®, Liletta® and Kyleena®. Hands-on practice will be supervised by experienced preceptors.

9:00 - 12:00 Preconference B | Nexplanon® Placement + Removal Merck Trainer Practicum attendees will learn how to identify appropriate patients, prepare patients and manage technical issues. They will also receive hands-on, supervised instruction on the latest techniques for placement, localization, removal and re-insertion of Nexplanon™ (etonogestrel implant) in artificial model. If they demonstrate mastery, they will be awarded a certificate of completion. This session, which is sponsored by Merck, is not accredited for continuing education credit. The training is open to advanced practice clinicians with furnishing numbers or prescribing privileges in their state and to physicians only. It is Merck's policy to verify all clinicians' practice, licensure and eligibility information in advance of the training. Merck will contact the attendee directly if there is a problem regarding this process. Attendees are expected to be present for the entire training.
