A New Artistic Outlet and How It Came to Be for Me By Glenda Eades Since I have been doing art in one form or the other for over 40 years, it was perhaps time to do something a little different from anything I had previously done. Since the painting was my primary release for most of those years, I thought I would take on a whole different form of art. Right decision or not, this is a new adventure, and so far, I am loving every second of it! My main type of art has been painting on canvas using acrylics for many years. Bluebirds Chatting Since 2020 was such a bad year for a lot of people, I decided to switch gears, so to speak. I have loved jewelry all my life (it even overrode me being a tomboy) and I love semi-precious gemstones, so, it seemed inevitable that my love for these things would be my guiding light. So, with my pencil and sketch book in hand, I sat down and started drawing out different designs for some jewelry. My original thoughts were to just make jewelry for myself. Since there was no way that I could afford gold or silver to start out, I chose the look of copper, which, looks like rose gold to me! Blue Agate with Amazonite Bead Copper is totally my choice of wire to use for wrapping. But I also use non-tarnish silver wire as well. As I have gotten older, the RA in my hands is getting much worse and it is more painful to do what I love doing. But I WILL do it for as long as I possibly can!
