Indulge in a virtual “dim sum” of dining experiences Confucius emphasised that the art of cooking encompassed more than the food itself; it was also about sharing the dining experience with family and friends. While travelling through China with Uniworld, you’ll find that Confucius was right—wonderful food is even better when enjoyed with friends. The vastness of China and the variety of different regions and customs that date back thousands of years have created a virtual “dim sum” of dining experiences for you to enjoy. From a Peking Duck feast in Beijing to a dumpling dinner in Xi’an, you’ll sample the culinary specialities of the many memorable destinations on your itinerary. Onboard your beautiful cruise ship, you’ll indulge in sumptuous meals prepared by talented chefs who use the finest ingredients to create tantalising cuisine, featuring both Chinese specialities and Western favourites. Our partner, Victoria Cruises offers an award-winning dining experience reflective of China’s evolving culinary landscapes, with a fusion of Western dishes. Meals are served in a single seating in the Dynasty Dining Room, with marvellous picture windows inviting the dramatic Yangtze scenery indoors. Western and Chinese buffets are offered at breakfast and lunch. In the evening, you’ll enjoy open seating and an elegant, full-course dining experience. And should you have any special dietary requirements, every effort will be made to accommodate your requests. For those who rise early, you may take pleasure in early bird coffee and tea in the Yangtze Club, and then in the afternoon, enjoy traditional Chinese tea with your fellow travellers. Each cruise begins and ends with a gala evening, hosted by the Captain. The Welcome Reception sets the tone with an array of international hors d’oeuvre, and the Farewell Dinner invites you to bid a fond goodbye to your newfound travelling companions.
