By Reid Erich Schwartz. Reid is a mixed-media visual artist based in rural southern New Jersey and educated at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Their signature style of fluid, organic lines and pattern emerged at a young age after discovering an affinity for fountain pens at their grandmother’s house, and learning to create beautiful flourishes from simple arrangements of line and shape. Their work is a reflection of their ethos and need to create, which continues to develop in new mediums. The results range from flat precise pattern work to layered and dense studies of their motif caught up in storms of colour and texture. The work is an immodest view of their mind.
