Forklift Logistics Operations & Warehouse training program

T

he Career Technology Education(CTE) department at CCC began the Spring Semester with large numbers enrolled in its Forklift Logistics Operations & Warehouse training program. CCC is the first in the TAA collaborative to launch the training program. During the orientation sessions in January, a total of 95 West County residents signed up for the 35 slots open to the first training cohort. The limited cohort number is based on the number of hours each student must have on the forklifts and other warehouse equipment used in the program. The classes include forklift safety training, Hazmat awareness certificate, digital warehouse skills and job placement assistance.

Five motorized rollup doors have been installed on the AT building. The project is near completion. The Football Field (visitor bleachers) is a completed project. The new ADA ramp, companion seating and repaving have been completed. The home bleachers project will start with adding a sprinkler system under the bleachers, renovating the restrooms, and adding a concession stand for ADA compliance. This project will be completed by the end of the spring semester. The Parking Lot #16 project has been delayed until the Music Building is completed. Portables will be provided in Parking Lot #9 for the temporary location of the Bookstore at the end of the semester. Food services will move to a food truck at the end of the semester.
