Report on Crane Operator Certification and Safety The NCCCO Foundation (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) has just published a report compiled from a survey on how employers have been responding to the OSHA requirement to evaluate their crane operators. The NCCCO initially distributed the survey at the end of 2019. It consists of several questions drawn directly from the November 2018 OSHA crane operator qualification rule, and the NCCCO’s goal was to try and gauge how employers were (a) understanding and (b) complying with this “third step” in the crane operator qualification process. The survey has been kept open, and the results of NCCO’s analysis are contained in the report. We think you’ll find the results interesting. The survey remains open for anyone who has not completed it yet, as the NCCCO continues to update the results. Please let your voice be heard. A quick link to the entire study is here: https://bit.ly/39rKkiq The NCCCO Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization formed by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) in 2018 to promote industry safety by conducting research, educating about–and advocating for– personnel safety and certification, and facilitating access by youth, military personnel, and underserved communities to education, training and certification through scholarships and grants.
