I am a curious person who always tries to improve and grow both from a working and personal point of view. I like to look at the world of architecture at 360 degrees and approach the different design scales. I am firmly convinced that attention to detail is the key to achieving an excellent result.

Following a competitive tender process, was engaged for designing the expansion of Nizwa General Hospital. The Design of the Hospital expansion was developed according to the RIBA stages: Feasibility; Preliminary Design; Detailed Design; Tender Documents production; Site Supervision. Recruit qualified personnel to assess the existing services and propose the best possible options. The main point of the new hospital: • Merge the existing and expanded SCBU and AICU; • Erect a new building where allocate the Post Graduate Centre and the expansion of the Administration; • Expand the Laboratory in the area currently occupied by the existing Conference Room; • Expand the CSSD to the area freed by the relocation of the SCBU; • Keep the 20 extra OPD clinics although not necessary anymore. Indeed the Radiology was finally relocated out of the main building without interfering with the existing OPD clinics; • Expand the existing Laundry; • Add extra parking, specifically for Day Care and Dialysis.

SOHAR HOSPITAL EXPANSION
Architectural project Structural project Electrical systems project Fluids facilities project
BV s.r.l. Fred s.r.l. ME Studio ME Studio
For the expansion of the Sohar hospital, the same design principles were adopted with some modifications to the case. To reduce any interference with medical activities during the construction phases, all parties agreed to reduce to a minimum the rehabilitation of the existing buildings. For this reason, it was decided to cancel the conversion of the Health Institute and to widely review the Concept Design concentrating the expansion of two new main buildings. At the same time it was agreed to add some additional components: • the Dialysis Department; • the relocation and expansion of the CSSD; • the expansion of the Kitchen, Staff Cafeteria and Medical Store; • the Visitors’ Cafeteria; • the expansion of the Laundry • Extra parking to suit the expanded services.

II. EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES
REHABILITATION OF PALAZZO NUOVO Turin |Italy | Via S. Ottavio | University of Turin
Palazzo Nuvo, seat of the University of Turin, is a building of the ‘60s that requires architectural adaptations to better meet the needs of its users. The task entrusted to Studio BuonomoVeglia provides for the re-organization through an approach that looks to the future thanks to the flexibility of the new partitions. This allowed us to completely rethink the division of space, creating offices dedicated to professors, meeting rooms and conference rooms. These different functions are linked thanks to the open space that develops on double height and encourages the meeting and interactions between users. The choice of different colors made possible to highlight the various departments, encouraging circulation within the building. technical room

KAIRA LOORO COMPETITION Tanaf | Senegal | Sacred Architecture
Designing a sacred architecture in the context of an always transforming informal urbanization, as the Tanaf, means on one hand receiving, collecting all of the inputs and needs of a culturally and religiously strong embedded community and on the other side allowing the process of appropriation by inhabitants in which any single wall and stone is considered as sacred. This process modifies and adapts to the way people use it. A space born with a sacred vocation will not be sacred as long as people who experience it will not consider it as sacred. Architectural choices strongly shape and influence this identification process made of appropriation and commentary managing of the space. For this reason, for a sacrality that is made of essential gestures such as individual and collective prayers, for a way of perceiving the presence of divinity in natural elements, for a religion that has its roots in oral transmission of its beliefs, the role of architecture is to transform spirituality into substance. Lights, lightness and materiality become the touchable connection
28
between the sacred and profane. Four distinct volumes where spirituality research is physically represented by light paths through massive walls into a personal and closed space. All of the entrances are shaded by a lightweight panel in order to allow the view outside and at the same time to create an intimate space to reach spirituality. At last, the central core of our designed space, a place where is possible to pray collectively, and where oral tradition can be seen to new generations. An architecture made of in-place materials, as wood and clay, of simple processes for a workforce which has not been formed from the technological point of view, allows to involve population into the creation of the architectural artifact, promoting the natural process of appropriation of the place. The set up is a versatile and flexible space, a cultural and religious reference point for a community that wants to live its land and spirituality through every daily action, let it be prayer or admiring the creation in all its aspects.

Turin | Italy | Via O. Morgari | Polytechnic of Turin
The distribution of buildings of the project were born to improve the services to the university students of the Polytechnic of Turin. The project proposes to increase the number of classrooms and to build new laboratories; cafĂŠ, a big auditorium for lectures and theatrical shows and a study room opened 24 hours to all the university students. The plot has a pedestrian street, which continues on the axis of Via Pietro Giuria. On this street lean out all the accesses to the university, to the cafeteria and the study room and it culminates with a public square where there are the accesses to the classrooms. The new volumes welcome the new functions, making them well visible and characterized, to be efficient and to offer a good level of comfort to the users. The use of non-traditional materials underlines the accesses to the buildings.

Geneva|Switzerland| International competition for the new building
This project stems from the collaboration between BuonomoVeglia and PATdesign to respond to the client’s request to create a new, larger and more suitable venue for new needs. Its shape is given by the desire to visually reconnect the different seats of the United Nations and create a permeability with the context. The building develops on several levels recognizable from the outside thanks to the transparent skin, rhythmic by its structure, which also highlights the vertical connections. Inside there are different office functions, conference rooms, rooms dedicated to corporate meetings, exhibition spaces that tell the story and the work done by this international agency. On the top floor there is a panoramic restaurant also open to visitors. While the inclined façade develops into terraces and houses a winter garden that allows you to enjoy panoramic views of the city and enjoy a green space encouraging socialization between different users. From the technological point of view, solutions have been adopted that make it possible to speed up the construction of the work and to meet the needs related to the protection of the environment.

This project, realized through a temporary grouping between PATdesign, BuonoVeglia and De Ferrari Architetti, is a pure expression of a circular process where the key word is that of reuse. The building is a rectangular prism that relates the square to the circle. The choice of materials combines two evocative elements of very distant places, the steel of the Luxembourg and the desert sand of Dubai. The perception of the building on the outside is neat and regular. The steel structure allows to create a large covered space that will be delimited thanks to the use of bags containing grains of sand that make up the masonry. All this coupled with technologically sustainable solutions. The entrance into this space takes place thanks to two circular openings that project the visitor into an extraterrestrial environment. Inside the building, the visitor is surprised by a large spherical volume where images are projected that tell the history and the future of the Luxembourg, some of which come directly from the satellites orbiting the earth.

IV. HOUSING
e-co-housing
Turin | Italy | Via Pisa | Via Perugia | Residential block
The project has analyzed an area along the course of the river Dora. The project choices have been done through the analysis of the urban fabric and the neighboring activities, observing the heterogeneity of the isolated launchings and the presence of a functional mix. In fact, the project foresee the realization of a co-housing building, with services to the community building, that they have been select through the surveys effected on different public actors.
54
The idea is to create a building with two sleeves composed by a buried floor that it has the car parks and cellars. Common services and the guesthouse compose the plant floor. On the first and second floor are the residences. Finally, the court develops an important role of opening toward the city.

Campidoglio
Turin | Italy | Campidoglio Neighborhood | Sustainable Suburb
HISTORICAL FORMATION OF THE TOWNSHIP In the recent years, the municipality of Turin has embarked on a path towards sustainability that seeks aimed at restoring the urban ecosystem, affected by the industrial past. In 2011, the urban administration of the city joined the SmartCities & Communities, an initiative promoted by the European Commission. The ambition is to become a “smart city”, a city that, through the use of technology, will lead to a reduction in the energy consumption of buildings and promote a clean transport network by fostering the quality of life of residents within the Metropolitan area of Turin. The goal of the Torino Smart city (the Turin’s version of the initiative) was to aim a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. The urban administration added to the project the TAPE plan (Turin ActionPlan for Energy) which deals with the 40% reduction of CO2 emissions by 2020. The Borgo Vecchio Campidoglio will be the first “Living LabCitizen”, an open urban space for research and experimentation of technologies and services, encouraging the formation of an“Eco-Quarter” applicable in different contexts of the city. The area of interest is enclosed in a ring of roads that reinforces the concept of island within the city. Our analysis will focus on this peculiarity of the neighborhood because it has the right dimension for experimentation. The choice of a block X is detached from the architectural features and allows the creation of a good model following three main themes that will lead to the reduction of the ecological footprint.
-1Graphical analysis of the first settlements of the township in the middle of the 19th century
-2Graphical analysis of development from agricultural to residential area
-3Graphical analysis of the emerging urban fabric
-4Graphical analysis of the consolidated urban fabric

In the three sections 3X + 3Y + 3Z the major sources of pollution are addressed and resolved differently. Each section addressed the theme with two levels of detail. The first phase analyzes the data collected on the field made known by local authorities and analyzes its critical aspects. Through the study of these data it was possible to evaluate the real consumption to reach the ideal ones. Therefore the first step does not want to formally intervene on the block, but aims to make the systems currently in use. This conservative
approach will guarantee a reduction in emissions that will respect the deadlines set by the European Commission. The second phase brings about a radical change, always respecting the identity of the place. Through the improvements made to the buildings and the unification of the different housing units under one system will point to a near zero building. All this must always be accompanied by a conscious use by users. 67

City of Cusco | Perù | Tramway station
The project takes place in Cusco, a Peruvian city in the valley of the river Huatanay. This area is characterized by the abusiveness and by a demographic growth not checked. The project gives a second life to the railway line that nowadays is useless, turning it into a metropolitan service that crosses the whole city and creates a meeting place for the citizens. These stops are a reinterpretation of the “Kancha” Inca, the old Peruvian enclosure where there will be different social functions. The area of project is next to the “barrio de St. Jerónimo” that it is a peripheral zone without any type of services for the people. Inside the project buildings, are new different functions such as ordinary residence, university residence, ambulatory, school, library and shops. Thanks to the analysis of the social flows of the district, the services on the “kancha” create an integration with the new urban fabric and existing one.

TERRAFORMA
Milan | Italy | Villa Arconati | Experimental and sustainable music festival
The sustainable approach of the Terraforma festival has always been present in the architecture of the festival, thanks to the use of sustainable and renewable materials to minimize the impact of the works and their reuse in subsequent editions. In this edition of the workshop the request was to redevelop the area dedicated to lunch through the use of wood only. The proposal consisted of a table and a session subsequently made and used during the festival. The table, characterized by an O structure, presents a simplicity in the design and the possibility of exploiting it in all its parts. While the seats are also flexible, they offer different possibilities of use and are characterized by a box placed in the corner where they find space for waste or recharge points.

BIOARCHITECTURE
The purpose of the workshop was to search different solution for low cost housing construction in developing countries. The alternative solutions must in common that all of them were easily built using sustainable materials. During the workshop, each group developed one different construction technique starting with a reused container: panels collided with blocks of clay, panels with straw bales, panels of woven bamboo and a hydroponic greenhouse. Our group chose the straw bale technique to develop the house. The finishing layer was plastered with different colors and textures.
