CONWAY DOWNTOWN PARTNERSHIP
ANNUAL REPORT
OCTOBER 2014
PUBLIC INVESTMENT Downtowns are unique by design. Without healthy and attractive public infrastructure, private developments cannot succeed in a downtown setting. Whether it is an amenity like a park, an aesthetic detail like hanging baskets, or critical systems like utilities and drainage, downtowns demand quality infrastructure.

PRIVATE DEVELOPMENT Can something grow without getting bigger? Downtown Conway has had roughly the same boundaries for generations: a historic neighborhood to the west, Hendrix College and St. Joseph to the north and south. It is a walkable and cozy scale that has stood the test of time. But make no mistake – there has been serious growth in our downtown.
Downtown Conway challenges a lot of the conventional thinking about growth.

SHOPPING, DINING & ENTERTAINMENT What do people visiting a downtown expect? Some expect to see older buildings and a sense of history. Others expect trendy shops and restaurants. The expectations are broad because people of every age and background have unique connections to downtown. Downtown Conway is meeting those expectations is some exciting – and some tried and true – ways.
