Sugar Cookies Ingredients • • • • • • • •
đ cup butter 1 cup white sugar 1 egg, well beaten 1 tablespoon milk đ teaspoon vanilla extract 1 đ cups flour Ɖ teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder
Directions 1. In stand mixer, combine butter and sugar until smooth and creamy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla and cream together.
2. In separate bowl, blend flour, salt, and baking powder. Add all the mixture to stand mixer; mix on low speed until dough just comes together. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. 3. Preheat the oven to 375° F and line a pan with parchment paper. Lightly flour surface and roll dough to 1/8 inch thick. Cut into shapes and transfer to lined pan, leaving at least an inch of space between cookies. 4. Bake for 6-8 minutes, checking frequently. As soon as edges are pale gold, remove from oven; transfer immediately to a cooling rack. Freeze or store, covered, at room temperature. @merci.bakery

Royal Icing Recipe
Substitute with 5 tablespoons meringue powder for children and pregnant women

Directions 1. Combine powdered sugar and egg whites in a bowl. 2. Mix at low speed and slowly add in the 1/2 cup of water. Change speed to mediumhigh for about 5 minutes. It should take around 7 to 10 minutes of mixing to get a ribbon-like trail when you dip and lift a spatula into the royal icing (almost a runny caramel consistency).

Lemon Sugar Cookies 4. Add egg/egg yolk, vanilla extract, lemon zest and lemon juice to the butter and sugar. Mix until combined.

3 cups all-purpose flour Ɖ teaspoon salt 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 ̛ cups granulated sugar 1 egg + 1 egg yolk 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice Zest of 2 lemons
Makes 2 dozen cookies 1. Preheat oven to 350°F degrees. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. 2. Blend together flour and salt in a medium size bowl. 3. In a separate bowl, use an electric or stand mixer to combine the butter and sugar until smooth.
5. Add in the flour mixture. 6. Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour, or refrigerate overnight. 7. Prepare a lightly floured surface to roll out dough to ⅛ inch thick. Add more flour if dough is sticking. Use CookieCutterKingdom cookie cutters to cut out shapes! 8. Bake for 10 minutes. Watch cookies to make sure they do not burn. Let cool completely! Eat them as is or decorate with royal icing.
