Since 1960, Cooper Carry has strived to create spaces that connect people to place. Like our founder Jerry Cooper, we do this by being curious and asking questions to determine the best solutions for our clients and the communities they serve.
Cooper Carry’s leaders are advocates and authorities for their specialties, empowered by decades of expertise to make decisions that prioritize placemaking, civic space, and the greater good of communities, tenants, residents and visitors.
Ecosystems bring many diverse contributors together to create something far beyond the capacity of one. They create and capture new and greater value. At Cooper Carry, we approach our work as a collaborative ecosystem. We have multiple studios and services that mix and match daily to provide each project the depth of expertise it needs to meet business objectives. Our breadth of experience goes far beyond broad building types. We offer a deeper level of expertise, engaging in more possibilities and offering more creative solutions. The mixed-use ecosystem allows us to help our clients create the platform on which tenants and target audiences can flourish.
Landscape Architecture at Cooper Carry is focused on the design of spaces which create connections among people, the buildings they use and the environment they inhabit. It is a core value of the studio — and the firm — that spaces between buildings are as important as the buildings themselves. The studio’s holistic philosophy approaches each project as part of a larger, connected context: climate and siting, land form and topography, flora and fauna, hard and softscape, wayfinding signage and lighting. We strive to create memorable landscapes that harmonize with their environment, inspire the users and enhance their quality of life.
Through years of experience we have learned how to be environmentally sensitive and economically effective at the same time. Working in concert with the other design professions as part of an integrated team facing real-world constraints gives us the insight to produce thought-provoking, imaginative designs that are beautiful and buildable.
