VOICES OF THE VOLUNTEERS Royal Oak Manor Co‐op Kathy Kriz Who knew? Well, now you’ll know that beneath the smiling face of this mild‐mannered, li le “accoun ng” lady, at Royal Oak Manor, lays the heart and soul of a true 60’s woman’s “libber”. We’re so proud of our second term Treasurer, Kathy Kriz (pronounced Ker‐is). Kathy’s favorite charity is the Humane Society. She is a Detroit‐born gal who returned to her roots a er spending 25 years in Pennsylvania with a career in Ac‐ coun ng and serving 21 years as a member of the Na onal Guard! So you can already guess that she’s a loving person that par cipates and understands the need for (and meaning of) volunteerism. In addi on to her me‐demanding hours spent as our Treasurer, she is also a member of Congress, a ROM Showcase worker and a devoted player at Bingo and cards. She par cipates in all co‐op par es and events and you can count on seeing Kathy helping to clean‐up. When our co‐op kitchen needed a new oven last year, it was Kathy who answered the call and purchased a new one for all of us. So from everyone at Royal Oak Manor, we say “Thank you Kathy, for all you do!”

Robert Reyes While walking through the halls of Royal Oak Manor, on most any given day, even weekends, you’ll likely hear someone calling‐out for “Roberto”. That’s because he is one of the most dependable and likeable residents to ever grace our humble abode. Ac ve in, well, almost everything here at The Manor, Roberto is usually one of the first to answer the cry for volunteers. He’s usually the top salesperson on our Showcase Commi ee, he is an ac ve worker for Leasing, Inspec on, Pest Control, Kitchen, Entertainment, Move‐ins and oh yes, he is also our Assistant Fire Marshall. Roberto, as you might guess from his name, is a proud, full‐blooded Mexican who came from the great State of Texas. Fortunately for us, he has a son living nearby in Westland so now Royal Oak is his home. Roberto Reyes is a true volunteer and gentleman. We salute and thank him for all he does.
