Copenhagen Winter Pride Week Intro

Welcome to the Copenhagen Winter Pride Week 2019. We are proud to present a many-sided and exciting program with a number of local and international activists, instructors and presenters. We hope that our program will contribute to a larger degree of contemplation, insight and new perspectives on genders, bodies, sexualities and much more. This year’s focus will be on building bridges and improved understanding of each other in the tension field between societal norms for genders, bodies and sexualities under the theme Inclusive fellowships. We will cover that through a broad spectrum of cultural and professional events such as lectures, workshops, presentations, debates, movie showings and readings. We look forward to opening the doors to a 6-day program. Copenhagen Winter Pride takes place from 4 to 9 February, mainly in Studenterhuset and Huset in MagstrÌde. Additionally, we have a number of external events around Copenhagen. We hope that you will enjoy our program and that you’ll explore some new facets of LGBTQIA+ life and activism.

Dragbanko Extravaganza Pride Edition 19:00 - 21:00 Huset-KBH, Bastard Café

19:30 - 20:30 Body and beauty ideals A panel of transwomen will focus on the paradox found between being too much of a woman and not enough of one. Living up to the normative ideal of feminine beauty, can have consequences in regards to whether or not your womanhood is accepted; how much importance does society’s expectations to how we look and act hold, how much do our own, and what are we willing to put ourselves through, in an attempt to meet them? At this event, we facilitate a dialogue concerning what we do to ourselves and why, as well as how that affects one’s person. Language: Danish. Location: Studenterhuset, Aquarium 19:30 - 21:00 Hands-on about forming families When it’s not easy to form a family, many thoughts, concerns and frustrations can surface. What’s best for the child? Can I make sure that neither the child nor I will be exposed? Far too many give up on the dream without having enough knowledge. This is a seminar, where two experienced alternative family formers open up for any type of question. Personal, ethical and legal. Language: Danish. Location: Huset-KBH, Debatscenen (debate stage) 19:30 - 21:00 The tale of the racialised There is a lot of talk about ethnic minorities, and

often that talk is based on prejudices. Based on the voices of those being racialised, we discuss those stories and how they affect debates, activism and politics. Language: Danish. Location: Studenterhuset, Mainhall 19:30 - 21:00 Anal sex 101 Curious about anal sex? Do you want to learn how one can be stimulated anally and create enjoyment? -and what good anal sex can be? Then join this workshop on anal sex, where you will be guided through everything from “what’s the best way to get started with anal sex?”, “what’s the best douching technique?” and “is lube really that important?” to “which toys can be used?” and more. There will be plenty of time to ask questions too, so come and learn more about the (w)hole world of anal sex. This afternoon is open to everyone regardless of their gender. Language: Danish. NOTE! May contain intimate and/or sexual statements. Location: Studenterhuset, Churchwing 20:00 Movie showing: ”Pride” We’ll show the movie “Pride”, which covers the ground-breaking solidarity and struggle between coal miners and LGBTQ activists in 1908s Britain. Language: Danish. Location: Huset-KBH, Biograf (Cinema)

the rights of both the adoptee and the original family are often overlooked. We discuss the adoption system and ask: “Rights for whom?”. Language: Danish. Location: Studenterhuset, Mainhall

17:00 - 18:00 Feminism is for everyone!

17:30 - 19:00 Always needing to perform...

Did you ever have the feeling that feminism may seem like a closed club that you can only join, if you know all the right terms, have just the right political beliefs, or are fully aware of every single privilege and blind spot? Do you actually think feminism is interesting, but are not quite sure how it’s relevant for your and your daily life? Then join this presentation, which will serve up feminism in an understandable language, and where you can have any question answered that you’ve been holding on to. Language: Danish. NOTE! Seats/tickets must be pre-booked via the Facebook event. Location: Huset-KBH, Debatscenen (debate stage)

Most of us have tried feeling pressured in a sexual situation, where the focus suddenly shifted to the finish line instead of the journey towards it. We host a talk where we question whether successful sex equals orgasms, and debate what performance anxiety can do to our sex lives. Language: Danish. NOTE! May contain intimate and/or sexual statements. Location: Studenterhuset, Hokus Pokus

17:00 - 18:00 KSK Young - experiences from a social space for women The starting point will be the group KsKyoung and the opportunities and challenges in creating a separatist space for a single minority in a minoritised environment. As an example, is it alright to make a space only for women who sleep with women? Additionally, we take a closer look at some of the talks and exchanges that might take place in a WsW-only space. Language: Danish. Location: Studenterhuset, Aquarium 17:00 - 18:00 Gay adoption - Rights for whom? The right to same-gender adoption is referred to as a right and a win for equality politics. However, critics of the adoption system point to how

17:30 - 19:00 Sex and handicaps As an LGBTQ person you’re a part of a minority group in society; what happens, if there is also a physical impairment too? With a panel made up of both professionals and individuals living such a life, we will make the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge. Language: Danish. NOTE! May contain intimate and/or sexual statements. Location: Studenterhuset, Churchwing 18:15 - 19:15 When men are ashamed Many children experience that they are considered ‘wrong’ in the eyes of others, if their sexuality or gender identity does not look like everyone else’s. Over time, they may start to feel wrong in their own eyes, too, and the shame thus becomes a part of their life. That shame manifests itself in thoughts, feelings and

Tuesday 5/2

actions that may harm the individual and their relations. In this panel, we discuss the shame in men (both cis-gender men and trans-gender men), who sleep with men, and what the shame does to us - and what we can do to it. Language: Danish. Location: Studenterhuset, Mainhall 18:15 - 19:15 What is a homosexual look? Come and find out if your gaydar is up to scratch, and get a nuanced perspective on homosexual looks. We have assembled a panel of homosexual men and women, who will take us through their own reflection on both breaking with and adhering to stereotypical views on the homosexual look. Which benefits might come from being recognised and reflected as a homosexual in one’s look? Which prejudices do they meet due to their “homosexual appearance”? Language: Danish. Location: Huset-KBH, Debatscenen (debate stage) 18:15 - 19:15 Inclusion on the scene Join us, when we turn the gaze “inwards” again this year and continues the discussion on inclusiveness and diversity with the question: “Is the

rainbow world quite as inclusive, as it likes to feel?” Language: Danish.. Location: Huset-KBH, Debatscenen 19:00 Buck Angel - love of a trans-gender body Join a night that will challenge your understanding of bodies and genders, when Buck Angel shows us one of his own body and sex positive movies, and then shares his experiences with reclaiming the right to define his own body and sexuality as a trans-gender man. Buck will also tell us about his big and vital work with sex positivity and self-care in a body that deviates from the norms. Language: Danish. NOTE! May contain intimate and/or sexual statements. Seats/tickets must be pre-booked via the Facebook event. Location: Huset-KBH, Biograf (cinema) 19:30 - 20:30 Drags for beginners We repeat the success from this summer and host “Drags for beginners”. Location: Huset-KBH, Debatscenen (debate stage) 19:30 - 21:00 the power of fellowships We often refer to each other as family, but to many people it is not that easy to be included in a fellowship within our community. We have invited DUF, Tuborgfondet and AURA for a panel debate about how projects, organisations and funds can strenghten the creation of fellowships and help counter lonelyness and poor mental health, which according to additional reports on living conditions often is the consequence for LGBTQIA+ people. 19:30 - 20:30 Sexshaming

19:30 - 21:00 The gendered body

Many of us know of this, some more than others, but why is it that sexshaming exists? Along with the panel we’ll take a look at the types of sexshaming that a person may meet, how it feels to meet them, and what we can do to end this. The panel will cover their own experiences, and you in the audience are more than welcome to bring up your own thoughts and experiences. Language: Danish. NOTE! May contain intimate and/or sexual statements. Location: Studenterhuset, Churchwing

How a person presents their body and their physical expression may affect how that person’s surroundings read their gender. When one’s gender is misread, it can feel limiting; both in the daily life and in the sexual context. With a panel of people who’ve tried this themselves, we open up for a talk on this topic. Language: Danish. NOTE! May contain intimate and/or sexual statements. Location: Studenterhuset, Hokus Pokus

19:30 - 21:00 Talk with Buck Angel

The series gives a sharp and loving insight into being young and new to the Copenhagen queer scene. About how to find yourself and your community in the midst of confusion, misunderstanding and budding love. We’re showing the first two episodes of “Pain in the ass”, followed by a panel debate about the representation of LGBTQ+ in Danish film and TV. Language: Danish. NOTE! Seats/tickets must be pre-booked via the Facebook event. Location: Huset-KBH, Biograf (cinema)

thursday 7/2

thursday 7/2 17:00 - 18:00 Diverse communities at universities and colleges Several of the country’s large universities have LGBTQ unions, where LGBTQ people can meet for social events. We invited these unions to share how they try to craft more diversity on the country’s universities and create good social settings for LGBTQ students. Language: English. Location: Studenterhuset, Aquarium 17:00 - 18:00 Norm-critics at children’s level In this workshop, we will give a brief introduction to norm-critical practice in the children and youth area. We’ll have a look at topics such as how norms concerning genders, sexualities and minority positions can have a negatively categorising effect on the pedagogical work - also in relation to some of today’s popular pedagogical principles such as acknowledgement and inclusion. Language: Danish. Location: Studenterhuset, Mainhall 17:00 - 18:00 The overlooked elder lifes Elderly sexual minorities have for many years been an overlooked group in aging research. But how does a factor like sexual orientation help shape conditions in one’s senior years? And which opportunities or challenges do the oldest generation in the LGBTQ world face for access to support and togetherness? Come and hear a presentation by SImon Meggers, who researches this topic. Language: Danish. Location: Huset-KBH, Debatscenen (debate stage) 17:30 - 19:00 The sex life in long-term relationships Often, the parties in long-term relationships can find it hard to keep the spark alife, and then what

becomes of the relationship? How can we as rainbow persons keep up long-term relationships, if we’re not settled and “playing house” the traditional way? This presentation will teach you more about ways to nurture the intimacy and keep up an open and honest communication about closeness and sex in a long-term relationship, when you’re invited in by Tonny, the chairperson of the Danish Association for Clinical Sexology. Language: Danish. NOTE! May contain intimate and/or sexual statements. Location: Studenterhuset, Churchwing 17:30 - 19:00 Objectivisation: Am I a human or a thing? Many LGBTQ persons experience being objectified. Can that be a positive experience? How should you handle being objectified, if it turns out as a negative experience? And how can being objectified affect the individual person? This talk is a dialogue between a number of people from the LGBTQ and kink scenes, who all have positive and negative experiences with objectification. Language: Danish. NOTE! May contain intimate and/or sexual statements. Location: Studenterhuset, Hokus Pokus 18:15 - 19:15 Rainbow persons with physical impairments or handicaps It can be daunting to break with society’s norms for gender and/or sexuality, but even more so for anyone who’s a double minority through also being physically impaired or handicapped. Knowledge can be hard to find, you might face barriers and lack of understanding or outright ignorance from therapists, carers and others around you. At this salon, we invite rainbow people with physical impairments or handicaps to share presentations

Many LGBTQs have tried being lonely. How do we handle that? This is a debate that we’ve had before, and therefore our invitation this time is for a cozy and fun chat about loneliness. Welcome to a free space, where we can chat, share and laugh at ourselves and our experiences. Language: Danish. Location: Studenterhuset, Mainhall 19:00 Future treatment for trans-gender children A psychiatric assessment is not required in the Danish Board of Health’s guidance, but even so, assessments are still made of trans-gender children. This makes the path through the system longer, leads to more time out of school and delays the chance of treatment. We invite you to a debate over this. Participants. Helle Jacobsen, Amnesty,
