Enhancing Vacation Care Enhancing Vacation Care works in partnership with local mainstream Vacation Care Programs (VCPs) to support the inclusion and participation of primary and secondary school aged children with disabilities in these programs. Enhancing Vacation Care supplies funding to each VCP so they can provide additional support staff. To be eligible for this service, each child or youth must:  Live and/or participate in activities within the Cities of Bayside, Glen Eira, Port Phillip or Stonnington.  Live at home with support from family or an unpaid carer  Attend school or equivalent within the Cities of Bayside, Glen Eira, Port Phillip or Stonnington. Enhancing Vacation Care has two levels of support:  A shared support worker for children with mild to moderate disabilities with a ratio of one additional worker per two to three registered participants.  One on one support for children with more sever disabilities and higher support requirements. The level of support your child may require will be determined through our registration and needs assessment process. If you are interested in this service for your child for the Term 3 school holidays, please contact us as soon as possible, as there are limited spaces available. Contact:

Access for All Abilities (AAA)

Changes to Access for All Abilities (AAA) program at Joint Councils Access for All Abilities (JCAAA) (JCAAA) In a letter received by the City of Port Phillip and Bayside City Council on Wednesday 24 April 2013, the Victorian Government advised that as of 1 July 2013, current JCAAA sports development funding would be redirected to State Sporting Associations and Regional Sports Assemblies. As a result, the JCAAA Sports Development Officer’s (David Connolly) position will cease on 30 June 2013. The cut to the AAA funding does not affect JCAAA’s recurrently (ongoing) funded respite programs from the Department of Human Services. The City of Port Phillip and Bayside City Council have proudly supported the program for in excess of 15 years and both organisations have successfully formed important partnerships with sporting and recreation clubs and organisations to become more inclusive of, and accessible to people with disabilities.

Access for All Abilities (AAA)

These partnerships have been a great success and have significantly increased the recreation opportunities of people with a disability in both the Cities of Port Phillip and Bayside. The accessible and inclusive sport and recreation programs within the local council areas of Bayside and Port Phillip that JCAAA has promoted and supported, will continue to run as per usual however there will no longer be a point of contact for community sport and recreation within JCAAA. Please refer to the Autumn newsletter for contact details at the local club or organisation that run these programs and contact them directly. JCAAA encourages you to continue to support these great programs run by committed volunteers with your participation.
