Betsy Williamson, Director - Asset Management Betsy is the founder and Managing Director of Core-Asset Consulting. She is also responsible for the company’s Executive Search capabilities, where she has built up a reputation as one of Scotland’s premier investment recruiters. Betsy has spent her entire career within recruitment. While completing a masters in human capital management, she launched Core-Asset Consulting in 2005.
Louise Powrie, Director, Financial & Professional Services Louise is an experienced recruitment specialist with over 18 years experience, originally within the asset mangement sector before focusing on wealth, platform and pensions. She is responsible for the management of the permanent recruitment team, while also supporting mid to senior roles across asset management, wealth management, platforms, pension, sales, marketing, risk and compliance.

Mike Stirton, Director - Core-Asset Solutions & Verify Mike is an experienced recruitment specialist with a career spanning more than 15 years within the asset management and financial services sector in Scotland. He is responsible for the recruitment of Senior Executive, Business Change and IT roles across a wide range of specialist fields. Mike also oversees Core-Asset Solutions and Core-Asset Verify, providers of temporary hires at all levels and vetting and on-boarding services respectively.
John Docherty, Associate Director - Accounting & Finance John has over 14 years’ recruitment experience across Financial and Professional Services. He leads the recruitment of senior Accounting and Finance appointments in Scotland. John is also responsible for the continuing development of Core-Asset’s accounting & finance capabilities. Vetting and contract services A division of Core-Asset Consulting, Core-Asset Verify is a vetting and contract service provider with the highest levels of expertise and engagement at its heart. Unique within Scotland, we offers a powerful combination of vetting, contract services, aftercare support and payroll services.
Core-Asset Verify Many organisations still carry out their own background checks, usually within the HR department. This ensures that applicant engagement is high. But in-house vetting rarely has the volume of applicants to allow for the development of dedicated expertise, structured processes and efficient timelines. Dedicated vetting service providers follow best practice and work to a high standard of scrutiny. But they are removed from the recruitment process. Sometimes they suffer from lower levels of engagement, which can mean longer timescales. Core-Asset Verify combines the best elements of both approaches. Our processes are built to our clients’ requirements and with the applicant’s experience at its heart.
In addition to vetting, we offer integrated contract services, providing our clients with a contract and document management solution for new hires.
