about us Facilities Management, Property & Estates and Information Technology are leading divisions of COREcruitment and are made up of vastly experienced and dynamic consultants who know the industry inside out. Through our extensive Facilities Management knowledge and well-structured processes, we are able to help match great candidates to our client’s latest vacancies. Our Facilities Management, Property & Estates and Information Technology divisions consists of three consultants who each have their own unique skills that contribute towards the team’s success. We offer a wide range of operational, technical, business development and leadership roles, with main hubs of candidates in Europe and the Middle East. Special projects in the past have included: targeting international specialists to help run theme parks, specific roles within healthcare organisations, services managers and much more.

our team sheila ingram Sheila joined COREcruitment in 2015 dealing with large, full-service provider accounts such as ISS and Sodexo, keeping a keen eye on diversity in the property market and the shape of things to come. She has naturally always been drawn towards development, re-furb and re-gen projects and has gathered momentum with student accommodation, retail and commercial property management companies.

william bates William (or Will as he prefers to “save time�) has been working with COREcruitment since November 2014, when he joined the international recruitment team in London. Focusing on a variety of roles across the Hospitality, Retail and FM sectors in Europe, Middle East and Asian markets. Will has recently settled back down into a pure FM, Property and IT recruitment role within the UK but has also branched out to include his native home, Ireland. He recruits for Mid to Senior Facilities Management, Maintenance, Sales and IT positions throughout the UK and Ireland.

sharlene cross Sharlene has been with COREcruitment for almost 7 years now. Originally from New Zealand, Sharlene graduated from the University of Otago with a BCom in Management and Marketing. When Sharlene moved to London she joined COREcruitment where she was part of the Facilities Management division with a large focus on Remote Site recruitment. Three years ago Sharlene moved to COREcruitment in North America where she now oversees all FM positions across the US, Canada and the Caribbean. This includes everything from Contract Catering, Property, IT and everything else in the FM industry. Sharlene also continues to head up our remote site division- working on contracts across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Australia and the US.

While our existing database of candidates is our first port of call, we also simultaneously advertise on over 23 specifically targeted, UK and international job boards. We do this by using the latest keyword and SEO insights available to attract the best and most relevant talent.

As a market leader, we feel it’s important to go above and beyond when sourcing the best talent for our clients and with that comes a great knowledge of the market by being completely aware of key competitors. This means that at times, we actually target candidates from competitor businesses.

The first stage of our process is to initially screen candidates by conducting a non-vacancy specific telephone conversation. This is because the candidates we register are matched on what they want to do – rather than what they apply for – this way we can find a much better long-term fit for them.

After identifying a candidate’s suitability for a role, we conduct a second telephone interview which is more job focused. During this call, not only do we present our client, we heavily discuss the opportunity and how it could be a match to their skillset and expectations.

Upon briefing the candidates on the job role and company, we then conduct a face-to-face meeting in our office. This process may seem exhaustive; however, we believe this is necessary to get a complete feel of, not only the candidates experience first-hand, but also their personality and work attitude which is a big key factor.

As well as our existing database, we use a variety of websites and CV databases for advertising – depending on location and specialism. We use; Total Jobs, Indeed, Caterer.com, CV-Library, Monster, just to name a few.

Recently, we have been exhibiting at industry specific trade shows. This is not only to reinforce our brand awareness within the industry, but to also be on hand to offer advice to both clients and candidates.

Candidate Attraction Our network Each consultant at COREcruitment has a specific area that they work in and apply their specialism. Within this area, they are part of many different network groups – consultants use these network groups to their advantage. Consultants make a conscious effort to attend any relevant networking events, so when we say we know the industry inside out, we really do!

Working within these specific areas also means consultants are constantly working on similar roles. Therefore, consultants know as soon as they receive a vacancy who would be a match. Then we create a candidate map to look at top companies and their people and aim to produce a list of 30 names by the end of this stage (ideally with profiles and summaries of experience and achievements).

It is quite often the case that that multiple individuals are responsible for the success of a business. This stage is very much about speaking to the individuals concerned to identify the right people. We use a variety of techniques to make contact with these candidates which can range from identifying the networking events they attend to reference checking past team members. There is normally a route to engage them for a qualifying call.

The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) is the professional body for facilities management (FM). Founded in 1993, we promote excellence in facilities management for the benefit of practitioners, the economy and society. We are supporting and representing over 14,000 members around the world, both individual FM professionals and organisations through qualifications and training.

Charity Give Backs We have strong values towards helping charities where we can. As a team we have a couple of charities that are close to us and therefore we have decided to support them as much as possible. However, we also donate to other charities when and where we can. Our main charities we support are Springbaord, Foodchain, MacMillan and Beyond Autism.
