The reception desk welcomes customers as the Piano floods the lobby with calming music. A crisp, light color scheme with dark wood accents creates a regal atmosphere. Tall columns accentuate the grandeur of the Ritz Carlton. In the center of the lobby, a custom carpet design encompasses an occulus that allows patrons to gaze upon the ballroom beneath.

A custom chandelier serves as a conversation starter for patrons entering the building. An elevated bar area pulls together the aura of a bar setting. A patio allows patrons to enjoy their cuisine outdoors in the fresh Brazilian air.

Prospective Owner Profile: Mr. and Mrs. Keyes are a young couple that are ready to move into a calm retreat. Maggie is 23 and likes reading a painting. Josh is 25 and he likes hunting and fishing. They want to have a spacious living area for movie nights and small get togethers with friends. They specify that they want an informal dining area with a bench. The kitchen must be functional but elegant and easy on the eyes. Their color preferences are white, green, blue, yellow, and browns. The Keyes want a zen inspired home with nature accents and clean lines.

Custom Design Elements are produced for the client and implemented into the design of the town home. The pagoda water fountain sits against the southwest wall of the living area, while the bamboo planter hangs on the south wall just before ascending the stairs to the master suite.

This is a rendering of the custom pendant. Designed for Paraiso, this pendant is eco-friendly and is perfect for a Brazilian restaurant.

Design a custom light fixture for a restaurant that was designed in Studio III: Paraiso The light fixture must be assembledDirect by handLighting and consist of an original design concept. Wooden 5/8” blocks were glued together to create this design. Designed and created for Color and Lighting Design

City Lights Pendant “City Lights” is a ceiling mounted fixture that is constructed to look like the lights of buildings in a nighttime cityscape. The top is a solid slab of wood that holds the light socket in the middle. The rest is made of square wooden blocks that are 5/8” x 5/8” in size.

With eco friendly intentions, the “City Lights” pendant is made with wood from sustainable wood forests and is finished with Briwax. Briwax is a blend of beeswax and carnauba wax. After it dries, one can practically eat it. Briwax is designed to protect raw wood and can be applied to virtually any existing finish.

The Sea Inspired Stool Twisting and turning is the stool of sea. Inspired by the beautiful art of Ernst Haeckel, this stool is designed to present the nature of a winding seashell. With a coiling pedastal, the shell stool will make a statement in any atmosphere. A cushioned seat and a comforting back rest will envelope any character like it was their own support system. Supported by the spring reaction legs, this stool stands condent, yet inviting at the same time.

Radial design is composed of black construction paper on white drawing paper. The curvilinear design draws the eye to the center. Designed to replicate the sun, this radial art defines the emphasis of the curve.
This line design is made with black construction paper on white drawing paper. Different thicknesses create depth in a simple line graphic.
Project Details: Design I • Learn the significance of line weight and the impact of the contrasting colors, black and white. • Create designs that demonstrate knowledge of lines and values and the importance.

Roses in Letters is created by using letters to accentuate the heavy and light areas in a photograph. More than five letters were required to be implemented into the design.
This drawing is composed to accentuate the different values of the grey scale.

Project Details: Hand Rendering • Compose a piece of art that is hand rendered with markers, blenders, and colored pencils. • Understand the importance of being able to graphically communicate color and perspectives through hand drawing alone.

Project Details: Design II: Batik • Create a design that will be formed with wax and permanent dyes on a cotton sheet. • The organic nature of the pattern is forged with liquid wax that resists dyes and leaves the remaining area white. After dying with wax design on, more wax is applied around the edges and scrunched to created a web-like impression on the cotton sheet.
