Director’s Statement As I watch the Olympics being held in 2021, I reflect on the fact that these Games were meant to be held last year, and that for all of us there has been a great deal of change, introspection, and grounding. Over the last 12 months many of us have found joy in the simpler things in life and our connections with people. Olympians are celebrated as world class athletes for sacrifices and dedication made in their pursuits of excellence and performance. FINEPRINTCO appreciates and supports artists with as much enthusiasm as the avid sports fan. We have been representing artists for many years across multiple platforms as part of our parent company, Gaterise Pty Ltd, with FINEPRINTCO, Corporate Art and Gallery One. Our relationship with Getty Images Gallery has gone from strength to strength. We are the exclusive agent in Australian and New Zealand with exclusive access to the entire collection of original Slim Aarons negatives held in the archives at Getty Images Gallery, London. Within our Slim Aarons catalogue, we showcase hundreds of timeless images. It is an honour to see these works in our clients’ homes and workplaces after they are printed on demand, framed, and shipped around the world. We are continuously releasing new works and this year we are launching 40 new Slim Aarons works in conjunction with the book launch ‘Slim Aarons: Story’ in October. Within our FINEPRINTCO catalogue, we showcase over 40 artists amongst Limited Edition, Artist and Open Edition works. Our Limited-Edition artists are some of this country’s most celebrated and award-winning artists. We are proud to represent them and their works for our audiences.

An exclusive offering in this year’s catalogue is to see the tables turned between artist, Kathrin Longhurst and her Archibald Prize, Packing Room winning portrait of singer songwriter, Kate Ceberano. For the very first time, Kate has created a body of work on paper and canvas instead of her usual performances on stage, and FINEPRINTCO is thrilled to present this range of prints. The cover of our FINEPRINTCO catalogue celebrates the work of Jane Hoggard, whose works emerged after a recent visit to her sister in New Zealand and the heartfelt emotions and connections she had to the country and her family. Jane describes these works as inter-woven between history, heritage and painted with elements of joy, sadness, and pensive thought. Another exciting partnership for us has been with Vogue Australia. Our relationship has given us access to a curated collection of photographic prints from both current and archived publications. This is an exclusive opportunity for our clients to access these unique works that have remained timeless over the years. One of the most successful prints FINEPRINTCO offered in 2020/21 has been the Vogue Australia, September 2020 Cover by Australian Indigenous artist Betty Muffler, and her work titled ‘Hope Ngangkari Ngura (Healing Country) 2020’. This cover resonated with many around the world, not only because of hope, but also as there is a global appreciation of Indigenous arts. As a personal collector of Indigenous artworks, I am committed to ensuring FINEPRINTCO expands on our Indigenous artist range, acknowledging our heritage, love of country and culture.

Amongst the difficult restrictions the world has faced over the last twelve months, our audience’s desire to purchase art has not wavered. It is possible recent times have reminded us how important art is to our emotions, inspiring and uplifting us. Gallery One is our premier business for the sale of original paintings and it has been endearing to see our representation for our most accomplished artists be so strong. Operating for more than ten years, Gallery One has a proven history of showcasing diverse works through regular exhibitions, commissions, and sell-out shows for the discerning client that invests in original paintings. Finally, our other significant part of the Gaterise company is Corporate Art. Operating for more than 25 years, our relationship with our hotel industry and commercial project clientele has demonstrated our strength in not only providing unique content, but delivering within a competitive domestic and international arena. We take great pride in ensuring we provide a livelihood to our artists across multiple platforms and their works being seen in residential and commercial spaces. We thank you for your ongoing dedication to supporting both established and emerging artists. We look forward to working with you to bring you artworks to enrich your lives.

Jane Hoggard Artist Edition

I am inspired by history, my childhood, culture, my children and the world I see - the ground in front of me! Birds, boats and the bush are a mainstay for my drawing practice. I tend to capture landscape scenes and detailed botanical line drawings as a regular practice. With a rich heritage of Yorkshire ancestors, I was surrounded by creative master potters and wares within our family’s chinaware business. Our home was a still life setting, complete with Dutch oil paintings at every turn and chinaware on every surface. I was surrounded by retro textiles and fabrics of my Dutch cousins in our first home in New Zealand. I am drawn to the calming lines of vintage furniture and architecture. Danish glassware and homewares bring me joy for their simplistic lines and earthy palette. My work is a collection of these family experiences and memories. Inter-woven between history and the present, my heritage and present life, my work has been painted with elements of joy, sadness and pensive thought. Returning recently to New Zealand to be with family brought back many memories, but also created new ones. Any emotion or reaction that makes the viewer laugh, feel good or pause to think would be an honour. Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas.

Andrew Dennis

Andrew Dennis Artist Edition

Formerly known as Jumbo, Andrew Dennis is a commercial artist, illustrator, painter, and sign maker based in Sydney. Drawing from a diverse range of influences including modern 20th-century art, low-brow comic art, 90’s skateboarding, graffiti culture and everything in between. Dennis has been actively making his vibrant and engaging artwork for public spaces both within Australia, and internationally for well over a decade. Working with a collection of characters and objects best described as a cabinet of curiosities, Dennis creates a decorative wallpaper that deals in subjects such as civilisation, future living, bio domes and animal behaviour. Much of this exploration taps into the visionary constructions of the artist as a passionate collector and amalgamator of artefacts, whether it be retro furniture designs, early primitive African masks or other memorabilia. The constant search for interesting connections from human history is a source of intrigue and creative interest. Available on Matt Photographic Paper & Rag Paper.

Angus Martin Artist Edition

A self-described introvert, Angus’ pieces are inspired by music and a daydream state where his creativity is fueled. Everything about Angus exudes that free-spirit energy you’d expect from a visual artist. ‘Everything happens for a reason – there are very few coincidences’ he reflects ‘If you can start to recognize the reasons, you can find deeper meaning, not just in life, but in art too.’ ‘I’m inspired by music and colour. I draw a lot of inspiration from music and lyrics. I always listen to music when painting, it can resurface certain memories attached with heightened emotion, good or bad, and even as the importance of particular memories fade, the emotion attached to the music remains. Particular songs can have a transportive effect, and I’ll listen to a song on repeat whilst painting to focus on that specific memory. Once I have gained a sense of the symbolism behind a piece, I will then select colours which strengthen the memory behind the artwork.’ Available on Matt Photographic Paper & Rag Paper.

The deep emotional resonance of his works belies a simple approach to figurative art, with Angus relying on fragmented shapes to piece together cohesive forms. With a focus on the psychology behind colours, Angus balances contrasting shades to strengthen the impact of his work and evoke emotions from his audience. His paintings are highly symbolic, harmonious and unexpectedly emotional. The artist’s goal is to initiate an emotional response that people can relate to from their own experiences, as every piece holds positive hidden meaning and symbolism which acts as a daily reinforcement to the viewer.

Erin Rigney

Erin Rigney Artist Edition

A beach girl, landlocked in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, Erin Rigney’s encaustic Shellscape Collection is an exploration of the atmospheric designs in shells and the unsung beauty that washes up upon coastlines. “Fascinated by the variations of patterns and abstractions in nature, these paintings focus on shells and their oceanic alchemy. Like each of us, the shells are imperfect yet stunning in their individuality. My Shellscapes are often inspired by fragments of shells therefore I intentionally strive to design my paintings so there are multiple orientations in which they can be viewed. I desire to give collectors an opportunity to personally experience each perspective therefore expanding their own perceptions.” “Welcome to my world.” - Erin Rigney Available on Matt Photographic Paper & Rag Paper.

Jo Olive

Jo Olive

Artist Edition An artist and multidisciplinary maker from Northern New South Wales, Jo’s work is characterised by an enduring interest in the mapping of place, fugitive nature of memory and the documentation of her emotional and historical connection to land. Her work favours intuitive mark-making, abstraction, and the automatism of line. Largely self-taught, Olive’s work is an intensely personal, cathartic process in which visual elements are simultaneously lost and found through the physicality of scratching, sanding, puncturing, concealing, and disclosing. Heavily concerned with process, these works ultimately produce a palimpsest, a recording of time. “As a visual maker, I am also able to interpret elements of my arts practice into utilitarian objects that transform the everyday such as textiles and letterpress paper-goods.” Available on Matt Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas

John Santucci

John Santucci

Artist Edition

John’s work in the past has mainly focused on delightful surreal cityscapes and whimsical caravans. Moving to Byron Bay a few years ago brought about a change in surroundings launching him into new innovative thoughts and direction in art. Not wanting to pursue the typical Byron Bay seascapes and lighthouses, he chose a subject that was closer to home – his own garden. This series is inspired by the fruits of his own labour in the garden culminating in a serene contemplation of form, composition and nature’s incredible beauty. Inspiration for my work comes from many areas: Architecture, Film and life experiences. Like many, I’ve always had a fascination for the circus. Marilyn Wallace-Mitchell

COASTAL MARKS 1 MARILYN WALLACE-MITCHELL #AE-MW-004

Marilyn Wallace-Mitchell Artist Edition After a successful career as an Interior Designer, Marilyn shifted her focus to her other passion – art. Whilst studying at Byron School of Art she discovered a new love, in the form of print making, which is now a large part of her practice. Living steps away from the beautiful coastline beaches of northern New South Wales, Marilyn’s inspiration comes from nature in her local environment, and she is constantly inspired by its unique and never-ending ability to create countless forms, textures and mark making. “After my morning walk, I let nature’s patterns and textures feed my thoughts and art practise. With a general feel and direction in mind I enjoy the creative, spontaneous process of this style of mono printing. For me, this approach seems to have endless possibilities. Each print has its own unique qualities. Some print images are complete as is, though often I can see ways to enhance each print image with additional mark making and textures, using coloured inks, charcoal, pastels, pencil, collaged and engraved textured papers to finish off each piece”. Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Canvas & Rag Paper.

Michael Whitehead

Michael Whitehead Artist Edition

“I believe a painting has to be instinctive and have a sense of urgency, but at the same time it has to be a considered work. If paint runs across a canvas, it’s because I’m happy for it to go there, or I may have even encouraged it to do so. Every stroke, line and layer of paint is intended to leave a record of its journey. I want the paintings to exhibit no fear of exposing their inner selves, the complexity of construction of how they came to be”. Michael Whitehead began work as a graphic artist in a design studio in Melbourne in the mid-seventies. He has taught art in Victorian Secondary Colleges, opened a one-man screen-printing business, and worked as a builder’s labourer. He has also taken time out to travel overseas. For the past few years, he has been painting full time with his work represented in Australian galleries and is in public and private collections both in Australia and overseas. Available on Matt Photographic Paper & Rag Paper.

Remy Taylor

Remy Taylor Artist Edition

It is my pleasure to create all original paper and canvas art through various multi-media processes as Corporate Arts in house artist. I am also tasked with art restorations and designing digital artworks that follow trending colour palette guidelines, featured in our Open Edition catalogues. With an extensive creative background, including studies in IT and Digital Media, Graphic Design and Visual Art, I have expanded my knowledge and understanding of the many artistic avenues explored through years of custom client orders allowing me to embrace all projects given to me. However, my personal creative identity is built upon all things dark, weathered, and serene. Inspired by medieval architecture, ancient untouched lands, and age-old lifestyles, I incorporate neutral tones in all my pieces as tribute to the colours of handmade parchment, rich black quill ink, grey stone pathways winding through long-forgotten towns and clouded whites of candle wax seals. I am also drawn to widely under-appreciated shades not often seen in art - low-saturation, bleak Earthly tones of moonlit moss, dusk-shrouded desert rock and fog-draped sea blues, evoking a sense of grounded disposition and organic peace. I use this feeling, paired with memories of places travelled far from my home of the Gold Coast to infuse passion, emotion and depth into each piece done by my hand. Available on Matt Photographic Paper & Rag Paper.

Adam Bovino Photographic Edition

Adam is a veteran news camera operator, working for the Channel Nine Network in Australia for more than 15 years. During that time, he has been deployed to cover major stories and breaking news across the globe. Some of his memorable assignments were capturing the assault on Mosul, Iraq in 2016; the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Tsunami, Thailand in 2004 and the World Cup, Brazil in 2014. For four years (during 2017-2020) Adam was based in the United States for his work. Using Channel Nine’s Los Angeles Bureau as a base, he covered major international news such as the Donald Trump Presidency; the forefront of the Covid-19 pandemic; and the death of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter movement. His brace and completive live coverage of those protests earned him the Walkley Award for Television/Video camerawork in 2020. While videography has enabled Adam to use a camera for a career, his passion remains photography. Adam is rarely seen without a camera over his shoulder, searching for the contrast of light and shade and elegance in everyday moments. Adam’s private collection of works is predominantly black and white and showcases the beauty of the world around himoutside of his often-harsh press life. Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas.

Elise Catterall

Elise Catterall Photographic Edition

Elise is a photographer, writer and naturopath with a Master of Public Health who fell into botanical photography as an artform when she was practicing as a naturopath and capturing flowering herbal medicines. In making her art, Elise focuses on capturing flowers and plants in studio with blank backgrounds, as a form of still life portraiture. This is uncommon in botanical photography, which is often field based. By removing the flower or plant from its natural setting, all distractions are removed so the focus is solely on the subject, emphasising the innate beauty of the flower. Elise brings her awe of botanics to every subject she captures. Long exposure photography allows her to use natural light and a deep depth of field to capture her subjects with richness, detail, depth and shadow. This way the viewer is equally filled with awe - not only at the uniqueness of these flowers and plants, but at nature as a whole. Elise is a mum of 2 and contributes as a writer and photographer for Planet Ark, a charity close to her heart. She has always had a love of art and photography with a focus on flowers, especially the work of Georgia O’Keefe, Christopher Beane, Irving Penn and the 17th Century Dutch masters, and these artists have guided her aesthetic. Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas.

Photographic Fran Miller Edition Collection

Fran Miller Photographic Edition

Born in Sydney of Korean and European heritage, Fran Miller now lives and works on Queensland’s Gold Coast. A self-taught photographer, Fran’s first experience with photography came in childhood, borrowing her sister’s SLR camera and shooting the waves and surfers along the Wollongong surf coast where her family had a holiday home. Fran moved to Coolangatta in her mid-twenties to pursue her career in commercial and editorial surf photography. This culminated in working with numerous international brands, publications, and world-class surfers. Fran was featured in Canon’s 2017 national campaign ‘Women in Surf Series’ alongside surfing industry veterans such as Sally Fitzgibbons. In 2016, Fran had her first solo art exhibition at the New York Women’s Surf Film Festival which was the catalyst for developing her practice in an art context. Her photography explores issues of identity and belonging as an Australian and how that is formed and fractured by the dominant discourse and taken-for-granted ideological frameworks present in her environment, in the past and the present. Fran has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions internationally and nationally including Bleach Festival, United Nations Marine Debris Conference, Horizons Festival, The Walls Art Space and BLA! In 2020 Fran’s photographic body of work ‘Dandy Savage’ was published and exhibited as a recipient of a Queensland Regional Arts Development Fund grant. “These days I’m only interested in shooting photographs that reflect what I experience intrinsically. My connection to people, surfing and Country. I read a book for every photo I take. Every photo is considered. Every photo has purpose.” Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas.

Francesca Owen

MERMAID BONES 03 FRANCESCA OWEN #AE-FO-023

FROM HER SIGNATURE SERIES

Francesca Owen Photographic Edition

Francesca Owen is a photographic artist who specialises in underwater photography. Her passion for the water started as a Synchronised Swimmer at the age of 8, following on to compete at the 2012 Olympic Games. Her Bachelor of Photojournalism enabled her to combine two of her passions, water and photography which took her beneath the surface. She enjoys capturing the magic that unfolds underwater, and lures her audience in through the elegance and movement of the human body. “People always use to refer to synchro swimmers as mermaids, so I wanted to incorporate a feminine element to the body of work but drawing it back to basics. Mermaid bones is all about exposing the raw beauty of the human body as well as the feeling you get when in the water. Mermaid bones came to me one day after a morning shoot at Noosa and it all just clicked!” Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas.

Lisa Michelle Burns

EUROPEAN COASTAL 02 LISA MICHELLE BURNS #AE-LMB-002

Lisa Michelle Burns Photographic Edition

Naming Greenland as her favourite destination to photograph, Lisa has a connection to the extremities and fragile beauty of our natural world. A journalist by trade and self-taught photographer, she got her start working in a regional Australian newspaper before a writing contest whisked her to Morocco back in 2007. Back in Australia, a five-year stint as a landscape gallery owner on Queensland’s Hayman Island saw her develop an interest in underwater photography and, thanks to a willing bride, a creative passion for underwater portraiture. Documenting the connection between flowing fabrics and the untamed movement of water soon trickled into her landscape work and before long she was back in the calm seas of the Mediterranean capturing a series titled ‘The World from The Water’. In 2014, Lisa launched The Wandering Lens which has grown to be the leading online publisher of travel guides and creative development resources for photographers. Her personal work focuses on regions of environmental significance and visual representations of those idyllic moments we all seek to experience. Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas.

Ross Spencer Photographic Edition

Spending many hours immersing himself in the natural environment enables Ross to capture the special effects of light that are crucial to the colours and patterns of nature. Drawing on emotion and sensitivity underscored by a keen awareness in observing the elements rather than the broad landscape, Ross transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, and photography becomes art. His passion has led Ross to develop a unique style of imagery whereby the viewer is taken on a journey exploring the known and unknown, particularly in the environment around us. Ross has an extensive portfolio, and his images have been installed in many private and commercial projects around Australia. Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas.

Sean & Kat

Sean & Kat Photographic Edition

Sean and Kat are Melbourne based photographers who love the chase for the next image. Fascinated by the way people live and the things that make us human, the differences but also the similarities we all share. Whilst Sean and Kat both share similar interests photographically, they each have their own style that complements each other. Sean adds “Kat learnt in the darkroom with film cameras and really searches out her images in a thoughtful classic way, with strong composition. I on the other hand am very much a digital boy. I shoot very instinctively and often come away having photographed way too many images! I think we both learn off each other a lot of the time”.

The streets of New York hold a very special place for them. The scale, its unrelenting energy and hustle, the grit but most of all, it’s characters. There are worlds within worlds, no matter who you are, what you love, whatever inspires you the most, you will find it in its purest form in this city. Full of chaotic beauty in the best possible way. The scale is obvious, but the true beauty is in the detail and the shadows. New York is not just a concrete jungle; the people is what makes it New York. The passion, the energy, and the soul they bring to the streets is what keeps them coming back. Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas.

Ty Stedman

Ty Stedman Photographic Edition

Born in Natal, South Africa, Ty became enamoured with the natural world from an early age. His enthusiasm for exploration, attention to detail and education in the sciences, ultimately led to a pursuit in photography where he is able to document the intricacies of the world that surrounds us. Although Ty undertakes all forms of landscape photography, it is his aerial work that fuels his passion for the medium. Ty chooses to shoot from the open door of a plane or helicopter, exploring vast areas of Australia’s outback from altitude where he is able to form a deeper connection with the landscape and the details and relationships that it bares. “I believe that the natural beauty that we experience on a daily basis, is all about the collective details — the colours, the textures, the formations of time, tide and everything in-between.” Available on Satin Photographic Paper, Rag Paper or Canvas.

Christopher McVinish

Christopher McVinish Limited Edition fine art prints

Contemporary realist painter, Christopher McVinish is a master of light. It is essentially this element of his work which invites us to see the commonplace as special and suffused with potential. Whilst McVinish urban landscapes tell intriguingly oblique narratives revealing contemporary life as a kind of halfremembered dream, his still life paintings convey a reverence for the Dutch Masters and draw attention to how memory and a sense of the divine can be evoked by ordinary objects. In recent years Christopher has been awarded significant accolades for his portraiture work with portrait of actor Robyn Nevin, OA, selected for the prestigious 2011 Archibald Prize. Additionally, receiving the 2013 Salon des Refuses Holding Redlich People’s Choice Award for a portrait of actor, Colin Friels. Christopher’s original paintings are held in numerous Australian public collections and private collections in Australia and internationally. Printed on Ilford Cotton Rag Paper

Cynthia Breusch

Cynthia Breusch Limited Edition fine art prints

Poetic and dream-like imagery is the hallmark of Breusch’s art. “My paintings hint at memory, secrets and emotional thresholds. I’m interested in making the state of reverie visual and to convey a sense of longing - common to many of us I think - that can never quite be named”. Born and educated in Brisbane, Cynthia is a graduate of the Queensland College of Art. She has held more than 35 solo exhibitions in Australia, and international exhibitions in Tokyo and California. Her first international, solo exhibition in California was exhibited in 2014 with her work being showcased on the cover of a major Californian magazine. Breusch’s works have also been published in an Anthology of Australian Paintings and Poetry used in school curriculum. Some of Australia’s most celebrated writers have also featured Cynthia’s works on the covers of their publications. Breusch has won numerous prizes for painting and drawing and has been a finalist in many painting awards. Her work is represented in Australian public collections as well as private and corporate collections nationally and internationally. David Bromley

David Bromley Limited Edition fine art prints

Born in England, David Bromley immigrated to Australia in the 1960’s and has become one of the most recognisable and innovative artists in this country. Over the past 20 years David’s work has fostered widespread acclaim and notoriety worldwide, exhibiting on nearly every continent including Asia, Europe, Africa, and America. Bromley’s painting practice is recognised for its distinct styles that include female portraiture, his children’s series and butterflies and bird’s work. David’s nude series uses layering and texturing techniques in his explorations of the female figure, which tantalise the viewer with their suggestions of veiled meaning. Whilst the children’s series explore the themes of childhood innocence, lost, and found. Bromley’s paintings hint at both innocence and enigma in the way that they bring together elements that vacillate between nostalgia and symbolism. David is also increasingly in demand as a portraitist. He has been a finalist four time in the Archibald Prize and painted famous visages, including filmmaker Scott Hicks, actor Hugo Weaving and singer Kylie Minogue. David’s eye for design and ability to create mesmerising, engaging experiences has seen him commissioned to design and orchestrate, bespoke artwork environments globally. Working within contexts as diverse as residential skyscrapers, major boutique retail spaces and iconic food and beverage venues, his unique ability to create transformative, otherworldly experiences have helped in redefining how audiences typically engage with and respond to these environments. David has been an acclaimed finalist of the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW) Archibald Prize in 1999, 2001, 2004 and 2008. He has also been awarded the coveted title in the Fisher’s Ghost Prize, along with being a finalist numerous times in the Moet & Chandon Touring Art Prize. Throughout the early stages of his career, Bromley held solo exhibitions in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide and continues to be represented with works in state and regional galleries. Printed on Ilford Cotton Rag Paper

Diana Watson Limited Edition fine art prints

Australian artist, Diana Watson’s elegant painting style comprises exquisitely melancholic still life ruminations on nature, flowers, death, and renewal. As an only child, Diana was happy in her own company growing up and spent endless hours drawing, painting, learning to sew and making tiny sculptures. Her childhood creativity led to an art education under eminent West Australian artist Robert Juniper. “I am driven to paint, to work or to create something that has meaning’ she says. ‘Being creative is who I am.” Diana’s paintings have earned the Sydney-based artist great repute locally, and now it seems the rest of the world is catching on, with selected works appearing in Hollywood film ‘Collateral Beauty’, as well as in celebrity chef Rick Stein’s new restaurant in Marlborough, Wiltshire (UK). Diana launched her art career after working for several years in the fashion industry. “I had a boutique that provided a wonderful necessity to travel to Italy regularly,” she says. “This was a major influence on the painting I am doing now.” Watson has been honing her talent for more than 20 years. The joy she takes in her work is evident in each brush stroke. Her paintings resonate with a sense of warmth, nostalgia, depth, and intrigue – at once beguiling and comforting. “I have been painting for a long time. I studied commercial art and fine art when I left school a million years ago. I worked in advertising as a fashion artist before motherhood and when my kids were older, I had time to do what I wanted to do.” Numerous exhibitions in Australia and the USA have coloured Diana’s career, with work held in corporate and private collections in Dubai, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, the UK, USA, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand and throughout Australia. James Ainslie

James Ainslie Limited Edition fine art prints

“As an artist my paintings are often a direct result of a location. It is the colours, textures, smells, patterns, in fact the essence of a place that inspires my images. The interpretation may be realistic, but often may develop more abstractly.” James Ainslie’s preferred palette is acrylic paint on paper, with the occasional use of mixed media. His forte is modern realism, although he also produces abstract art. Ainslie’s paintings resonate with an inherent passion for the country’s unique beauty, particularly the sandy dunes. Now living in Noosa, he has turned his attention to the undulating dunes of Fraser Island and the many beaches along the Sunshine Coast shoreline. Printed on Ilford Cotton Rag Paper

Juli Hutchings

Juli Hutchings Limited Edition fine art prints

Residing on a rural property in the Northern Rivers region of Grafton in New South Wales, Julie has an idyllic backdrop for her creative works. Predominantly an oil painter with a passion for drawing, Julie has been a professional artist since 2000. The human figure is a main source of inspiration for her work and is facilitated by weekly life drawing sessions. Julie’s paintings often develop from a deep emotional state in either her current environment, or memories. With a strong connection to the land and a love of animals, her work often reflects these passions in her paintings. All of Julie’s works commence with a mark, a drawing, expressive and energetic lines that are eliminated and layered upon. Referred to as a storyteller with her paintings, Julie’s works develop with a narrative that embody their own dialogue and presence. Social and political issues may come into play with Julie’s work from time to time. But when she paints, she concentrates on her own aesthetics and what messages she wants to convey whilst maintaining movement, life, and spontaneity. Her works are often described as energetic and expressive and full of heart felt emotion. Printed on Ilford Cotton Rag Paper

Jorna Newberry

Jorna Newberry Limited Edition fine art prints

Jorna Newberry is a Pitjantjatjara artist, was born around 1959 at Angus Downs. Jorna divides her time between Warakurna, Irrunytju and Alice Springs where she has family, living between the traditional culture of her indigenous background and a contemporary one. When visiting her lands she regularly goes bush with the women of her community for sacred ceremony, which is important to her as she has two daughters and wants to pass this knowledge on to them. If she goes camping for several days she will hunt for kangaroo and goanna and collect bush tucker like berries, witchetty grubs and honey ants. Jornas’ style is abstract and layered to ensure secrecy of important cultural matters. Working with her uncle Tommy Watson, she developed her own style. Jorna began painting in mid 1990’s at Warakurna, creating work for casual collectors. Later she joined the Irrunytju arts centre and started painting for this group. Over recent years she has worked closely alongside her legendary uncle, Tommy Watson. She follows his instruction to favour abstraction as a stylistic mode to ensure secrecy of important cultural matters, rather than taking the more figurative approach of the Papunya Tula artists. Kate Ceberano

Kate Ceberano Limited Edition fine art prints

Kate Ceberano is an Australian singer songwriter based in Melbourne, who has been performing in the music industry for 40 years and is a multiple platinum award winner and hall of fame recipient. Kate’s usual medium has been music, but now we are invited into her private, intimate art series ‘Unsung Songs’. Kate began painting whilst pregnant with her daughter 18 years ago, exploring an outlet for her creativity whilst away from the stage. “Nothing else really had compared to the magic of live performance except for painting”. Kate’s ancestry is brimming with multicultural creatives originating from Sweden, Hawaii, the Philippines, and Australia. Her ancestor, Henry Mundy was a renowned portrait artist who painted the landed gentry during the First Settlement in Tasmania in the 1830’s. Mundy’s works are of national historical significance and belong in major cultural institution collections throughout the country such as the National Portrait Gallery, National Gallery of Australia and on display in the State Library of Victoria. During this unprecedented halt in live music and touring globally, Kate has been painting memories of places she’s visited and the changing seasons. “From my studio window I contemplate these places and things daily. Like a bird in a cage, I am singing through my brush onto a canvas in lieu of a microphone and an audience.” Her works are inspired by nature and textiles using acrylics on canvas or ink and pen on paper. Sensual like fabric, Kate has envisaged her works in a boudoir, as part of a rich tapestry “something I’d like to wear or feel between my fingers.” “These are my ‘unsung songs’, they feel lyrical and alive. Often, I’ll go for days in the ‘performance’ of painting, barely eating, speaking, and just doing it. It helps a lot to feel this way as thinking about it seems to disturb my peace and feels less authentic for some reason.” Printed on Ilford Cotton Rag Paper

Kathrin Longhurst

Kathrin Longhurst Limited Edition fine art prints Kathrin Longhurst’s visual language is entwined with her own journey as a child. Growing up in East Germany during the cold-war era, Kathrin experienced what life was like living with the iron-curtain. The contrast between war-propaganda imagery and promises of glamour ‘on the other side of the wall’ have long been the inspirations of her works. A classically trained figurative painter, Kathrin began attending life drawing classes at the age of fourteen before relocating with her family to Sweden. Throughout her painting career, Kathrin has challenged the traditional war propaganda aesthetics with her flying female warriors in place of traditional, fearsome male figures. Kathrin has a passion for exploring the concepts of feminine spirit, freedom of speech and expression. Her works aim to bend the visual paradigm of men and women at war. Longhurst’s initial approach is self-observational, but hopes her works inspire a shift in the history of empowerment and a gender-equal future. A well-respected member of the Sydney arts community, Kathrin has served as Vice President of Portrait Artists Australia for some years. She is also the founder and Director of the innovative Project 504, an art space that fosters collaboration between emerging and established Australian artists. In 2021 Kathrin achieves her 18th solo show, with her works widely collected in public and private collections in Australia and Internationally. Kathrin is a highly awarded painter with her recent accolades as the Archibald Packing Room Prize for the Archibald Prize in 2021, and finalist in the Archibald Prize 2018. Kathrin has also been a finalist in many prestigious painting Prizes including the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, Darling Portrait Prize National Portrait Gallery, Sulman Prize, Mosman Art Prize, Percival Portrait Award, Portia Geach Award, Shirley Hannan National Portrait Prize, and the Western Australia Black Swan Prize for Portraiture. Mel Brigg Limited Edition fine art prints Mel Brigg’s paintings are mostly an expression of his love of nature, animals and the wideopen spaces of South Africa and Australia. ‘To be in harmony with my environment is very important to me. I have the power to reawaken my viewers to the beauty and colour of nature.’ Drawing inspiration from the interior regions of Australia, Mel portrays the vast intensity of light, combined with the spirituality of the indigenous peoples, as a never-ending source of subject matter. Mel says ‘I try to portray this in my work by using materials such as sand, bones, and skin. Hints of tribal symbols combined with heavy textures, impart a feeling of the powerful energy forces which surround these desert people – a possible link from the past with Africa where I was born and raised. What you see in a landscape may give you an overwhelming sense of peace, or it may threaten or intimidate you. Art painted with feeling can remind people of the reality of our planet.’ Printed on Ilford Cotton Rag Paper

Tommy Watson

Tommy Watson Limited Edition fine art prints One of Australia’s greatest Aboriginal artist’s Yannima Pikarli Tommy Watson was a senior Pitjantjatjara elder, and law man of the Karimara skin group, described during his lifetime by one critic as ‘the greatest living painter of the Western Desert.’ When Tommy was born c.1935, he was given two names, Yannima and Pikarli, both names specific sites near where he was born. Pikarli is a sacred flat rock, and the name Yannima, according to Tommy, is a place not too far from Anumarrapirti, which is approximately 75 kms west of the remote community of Irrunytju (also known as Wingellina). Irrunytju is situated in Western Australia near the tri-state border of Western Australia, South Australia, and the Northern Territory, and is one of this country’s most arid and unforgiving regions. While the landscape is visually beautiful, its climate is harsh — with chilling winter winds and extremely high summer temperatures. In 2001, after the establishment of the community arts centre at Irrunytju, Tommy who was already in his early 70s began painting for the first time, with other senior Ngaatjatjarra and Pitjantjatjara men. At the 2002 Desert Mob show in Alice Springs, Tommy burst into prominence with a magnificent work called, ‘Walpa’. Tommy Watson was quickly recognised for his powerful use of colour and the energy that his brush strokes evoked on canvas. Exhibiting at Desert Mob in Alice Springs and at the Telstra NATSIAA Art Award in Darwin, his reputation continued to strengthen with his work becoming highly collectable. In 2005-2006 with the assistance of the Harold Mitchell Foundation, Tommy was among eight Aboriginal artists whose work was incorporated into the architectural structure of the Musee du Quai Branly, in Paris. Tommy’s painting Wipu Rockhole will be on permanent display as a focal point of the Museum’s design, enlarged and reproduced on stainless steel tiles ad embedded in the ceiling of the museum. This commission assisted in establishing Tommy’s reputation as one of a handful of internationally acclaimed Aboriginal artists. Tommy’s artwork combines contemporary media and techniques, appealing with traditional visual language through which he sings about country, using layers of vibrant colours to represent the country of his ancestors. His use of oranges, burgundy, reds, ivory, blue and pinks create sumptuous, visual compositions. Painting the stories of his ancestor’s country, recording the sacred dreamtime stories and journeys of the ancient spirits and the significant episodes in the history of his tribe. “My grandfather’s country, grandmother’s country. When they were alive, they would take me around the country, when I was a kid. That’s why we look after country, go out whenever we can. TALI See if the rock holes are good”

Julie Nangala Robertson

Julie Nangala Robertson Artist Edition

Julie Nangala Robertson is one of five daughters born in Yuendumu to well-known Telstra Award winning artist, Dorothy Napangardi. Since the late 1990’s, often whilst in the company of her talented mother, Julie has developed a creative visual language of her own, consisting of a fascinating blend of stylised experimentation and ancient narrative. Depicted usually from an aerial perspective and distinctive monochromatic palette, Julie’s current paintings portray the topographical features of her traditional country at the site of Pirlinyanu. Julie’s paintings have become works of extraordinary optical brilliance as she alternates the size of dots throughout her work as well as building up specific shapes or reference points often repeated with over dotting. Julie has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, an Aboriginal owned and governed art centre located in Yuendumu, Northern Territory, since 2007. She paints her mother’s Jukurrpa stories, that have been passed down to her by her mother and all the mothers before them for millennia. Her work has been included in numerous collections and exhibitions of Aboriginal Art nationally and internationally. Available on Satin Photographic Paper & Rag Paper.

Karen Napalijarri Barnes

Karen Napalijarri Barnes Artist Edition

Karen’s paintings depict one of many ‘jurlpu’ (bird) species that live around Yuendumu. The bush around Yuendumu provides many different habitats for birds to live in. Many bird species live around waterholes and rivers, like the ‘pirniny- pirninypa’ (black fronted dotterel) and Ngajirri (budgerigar). Others live in the spinifex country, like the ‘nuwiyingki’ or ‘panngarra’. In Warlpiri culture, ‘jurlpu’ are associated with a number of different ‘Jukurrpa’ (Dreaming) stories. Some are even associated with major ceremonies, including the Jardiwarnpa fire ceremony. Karen Napaljarri Barnes was born in Lajamanu, a remote Aboriginal community in semi-arid country on the edge of the Tanami Desert 1000km north-west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. She paints her Dreaming stories but the one that features constantly is Mina Mina Jukurrpa (Mina Mina Dreaming). Her paintings are of her country. Mina Mina Dreaming

MINA MINA DREAMING III JEANIE NEPANGARDI LEWIS #AE-JL-003

Image Size: 1300x500mm Framed size: 1500 x 700mm

The Mina Mina Jukurrpa tells the story of a group of ancestral ‘karnta’ (women) who traveled from west to east. In the Dreamtime, these ancestral women danced at Mina Mina and ‘karlangu’ (digging sticks) rose out of the ground. They collected these digging sticks and started travelling to the east. They carried their digging sticks over their shoulders and they were adorned with ‘majardi’ (hairstring belts), white feathers and necklaces made from ‘yirirnti’ (bean tree) seeds. They continuously anointed themselves with ‘minyira’ (shiny fat) to increase their ritual powers as they went along. As the women travelled, they were followed by a ‘yinkardakurdaku’ (spotted nightjar) from the Jakamarra subsection. The bird would call out and then hide in the bushes behind them.Y TRAVELLED.

NOURISH Natural beauty with biophilic hues of mossy and sage greens, turmeric and citrus. RESET Uplifting hues of blue-green and energetic reds inspired by the 70s. RETREAT Stormy blues channel tranquility, whilst essential whites and burgundy feed our sense of the familiar.
