Nothing actually affects Indian outbound tourists whether there is a decrease in rupee value or air fares going high or even air tragedies. Numbers to most of the popular destinations abroad continues to rise from the country. One of the indicators of the rise in number of Indians with disposable income is the fantastic statistics gathered by foreign tourism bodies on arrivals from India. Not only do countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates get a steady and strong surge of Indian tourists, but also those like South Africa and Australia which are fast emerging as popular destinations for the well to-do Indian. Mauritius, Visit Britain, Turkey, Taiwan and few others are promoting their countries big time. Even Brand USA has launched a series of educational programs for travel agencies at major Indian metropolitan and tier II cities to promote USA. Over the last few years, there has been a substantial increase in the number of Indian visitors opting for a tailor made holiday package customized to their preferences. A rise in the demand for outbound MICE travel as well as experiential and luxury travel is also expected in near future. Bollywood also plays a very important role in promoting outbound tourism. After a popular movie Spain and its adventure tourism showed a steep high in number of enthusiasts from India. Australia and New Zealand managed to entice loads of Cricket fans in spite of no direct air connection between the two countries. A foreign holiday has now become non-negotiable for Indian consumers. This also means that Indians are loosening their purse strings more than earlier. Tapping the growth of Indian outbound market, many foreign tourism boards are opening their offices in India designing special marketing strategies with special offers, connectivity, and a lot more to win substantial market share. The have sensed a huge potential for Niche Products & Customized Offerings. Number of international low cost airlines and direct flights to various destinations also proves the same.

India has emerged as the world’s fastest-growing outbound market for sure!!!!

Ethiopian Airlines to start double-daily flights to New Delhi soon

The best time to book flights from India

ith the announcement of double-daily flights to Mumbair, Ethiopian Airlines plans to start double-daily flights to New Delhi soon. Both daily flights to Mumbai will be operated with the ultra-modern B787 Dreamliner aircraft, and the service is meant to provide optimal connectivity from India to 49 destinations in Africa. The airlines is also planning to start flights from Chennai and Bengaluru within one year.

T

W

Booking 18 weeks in advance could help Indians save 15% on ticket costs overseas he results are from a study conducted by Skyscanner , which follow the analysis of the last three years’ worth of data, and over 250 million flight prices, also found that the best time to book varies a great deal from destination to destination. For instance flights to countries like USA and UK should be booked eighteen weeks in advance while those looking to fly to hot destinations like Australia, Singapore and Thailand should consider booking anywhere between 16-17 weeks in advance for the cheapest fares.

In Asia, China and India are important markets. The traffic from India is predominantly business and labour. Ethiopian has been providing scheduled operations to Mumbai for over 43 years and to New Delhi for over 49 years. The airline currently has daily flights to Mumbai and New Delhi. The Africa-India traffic is witnessing a significant increase owing to economic growth in the two regions and increasing trade, investment, and tourism ties, in addition to travel demand of the large Indian community in various African countries.

Vistara to commence daily flights to Guwahati & Bagdogra in April

V

istara will commence flights to Guwahati (Assam) and Bagdogra (West Bengal) from April 2015 onwards. The airline will operate daily on the Delhi-Guwahati-Bagdogra route. Flight number UK717 leaves Delhi at 1225 and arrives in Guwahati at 1440. The connecting flight leaves Guwahati at 1520 and reaches Bagdogra at 1620 everyday. The return flight leaves Bagdogra at 1655 and reaches Delhi at 1910. Vistara now flies from Delhi to six destinations, namely Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Bagdogra, besides serving the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route.

The best time to book has varied from year to year. However Skyscanner predicts that the Indian traveller will be able to save over 15% if they book their flights over 4 months in advance. Skyscanner is committed to ensure that travellers get a chance to find a flight at the best price and plan their holiday well in advance. And since fluctuations in ticket prices are erratic, it is critical for us to share the best time for making these bookings. Prices can be quite volatile so customers need to understand that they may be taking a gamble by leaving booking too close to their departure date.

King’s Day- Amsterdam

K

ing's Day (formerly Queen's Day) festivities invite locals and visitors alike to soak up Amsterdam's open-air fun. In the streets, canals, parks and everywhere in between, the city is bursting with orange as Amsterdammers enjoy the biggest street party of the year. As a city built on trade, Amsterdammers love to haggle and bargain. The vrijmarkt (literally ‘free market’) gives everyone and their mum the chance to sell their second-hand things on the streets and parks of Amsterdam, creating one of the world's largest flea markets. And it’s not only second-hand wares on offer - plenty of food stalls spring up to fuel your bargain hunting frenzy! Aside from children being able to try their hand at trading on King’s Day, there are also plenty more activities taking place across the city for the young and young at heart including face-painting, games and sports events. DJs play parties on public squares, brightly decorated boats fill canals and live music spills onto streets from cafe patios. Never has gridlock traffic been so much fun! On King’s Day, thousands of brightly decorated boats pack the narrow Amsterdam canals. The next best thing to being on one of the boats is watching - and dancing - from one of the many bridges. The King's Day this year will be celebrated on Monday, 27 April 2015.

“2015 is the seminal year for solo women travellers. We have been tracking a fair rise in this segment in the last four years, but the big spurt to 10%, will be witnessed in 2015 for the first time. This jump will significantly alter the tourism in India, just as the rise of couple travellers over the last decade did by giving rise to the concept of weekend getaways and jungle lodges across India. Perhaps, women-friendly concept hotels and specialized holiday packages will surface. Meanwhile, the tourism industry must note, when women plan a holiday, they spend 15 % more than men. Not wanting travel to be an extension of the family, independence and the exposure that comes with it, has led to the rise of the solo woman traveller” says Hari Nair, Founder & CEO, HolidayIQ,

Tips from HolidayIQ for women travellers Carry out thorough research, use apps for navigation/ maps. Make sure phone has charge. Keep a couple of friends posted on whereabouts. Carry cash & contact details of hotel. Try to blend in. Be confident, don’t shy from asking for help. Be wary, not unfriendly. Trust your intuition, but do your homework. Keep to yourself, but stick with the crowds.
