This residential studio was instructed by our stand-in professor, Landscape Architect Dan Gordon. Using a residence previously designed by he and his associates. We were able to reimagine the site while working remotely from our online classroom. We explored the connection between architecture and private gardens, as well as how the programmed areas are spatially related to the landscape. Graphics presented in this project were based upon the style of DGLA’s office.

The site was quite unique in terms of topography, wind, and sun patterns. We wanted to create spaces that utilized the best sunlight, as well as what the family needed for the home. Some of those features included a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen, conservatory, garage, and access to the secondary garage in the rear of the house that may be utilized as a recreational space for the family.

I worked as an intern at Studio 2112 throughout the summer of 2021, helping to create plan and perspective renders for this project. Located in Brookline, Massachusetts, this site is a historic home dating back to the 1820s, and used to be known as the Philbrick House. This site was a known spot on the Underground Railroad, therefore it holds a high significance to the town. With this background, there were many regulations to follow with the design. Designed by Lynne Giesecke, these three concepts were given to the client for them to see how their outdoor spaces could be transformed into a place to entertain and enjoy with others.

When COVID restrictions were lifted from the University in the Spring, we finally had a chance to design with our professors and classmates again. We were given a site right outside our studio walls, and redesigned the campus walk that connects to our building. This historic area is one of the oldest in our campus, with buildings here dating back to the beginning of the University’s days. We wanted to foster campus connections, and create a relationship between the main University drive and the walkway in which the academic buildings and dining hall reside. This design features a strong geomorphic form with avenues intersecting the main Stockbridge Road. We also had the opportunity to remove buildings or parking areas, and add any kind of programming we wanted. This included a new greenhouse, conservatory, and permaculture garden. This design was made to emphasize the historic past of the agriculture in Amherst, as well as accentuate the programs in that area of campus, like Horticultural Science and Landscape Architecture.

This studio took place in the Fall of 2020, and we focused on a greyfield located close to the Providence Mall, and colleges such as Brown and RISD. This area has a great art scene and many businesses nearby are catering towards this younger population. For this studio, we focused on original designs such as playground equipment, arts showcased throughout the site, and materials on site. This design features a Creek Walk, Art Underpass, Children’s Play Area, Artist Loop, and various sculptures throughout the site. It is heavily inspired by local artists in the area, and showcases their talents through events in the park.

This was our first full-semester studio, which gave us as students a great opportunity to understand the potential of our site. We worked in groups, and I was paired up with classmates Emily Menard and Harrington Riendeau. This design is meant to bring the community of Ware closer together in the historical district. The mills hold a significant amount of historical value, and bringing life back to the river’s edge is an imperative part of the revitalization of Ware. The design will incorporate functional pockets of community gathering with a varied program. Some areas are meant for the separated consumption of marijuana products. Other areas do not focus on the cannabis industry or consumption and provide more family-friendly activities such as food, fishing, concerts, and education surrounding the history and the environment of Ware. The tailored program to appeal to multiple populations is key to bringing people of all walks of life to the mills.

Addition al Work Landscape Graphics
The following is a series of additional graphic work completed during my time as an undergraduate. From my first semester as a Landscape Architecture student, to my time as an intern, these selections serve to demonstrate my overall progress.

Addition al Work 2D Graphics
Since high school, I have used graphics as an outlet in my free time. I pursued this into college, and has now become a side profession. I am commissioned by clients through platforms such as Fiverr and mutual contacts to design logos, pet portraits, and branding material. I have also been taken on as a designer for a brand named Kryofilik, in which I help with the merchandise they sell. Here are some examples of the work I have produced in the past few years.

Additi on al Work Photography
I have always loved taking time out of my busy schedule to drive around and find places to photograph. I participated in my photography club for three years in high school, and sold prints of my work for fundraisers for my school. During my freshmen year, I was attending school out west and was able to photograph places I never thought I would be able to. This collection of work showcases just a few of my favorite photographs.
