Flooring
Elegant Stone
Whether it’s contemporary porcelain or regal marble flooring, stone finishes are a great way to make a statement and remain a top choice in 2023. Nature-inspired tiles are on-trend and porcelain is a great way to bring this look into the home without compromising on function. Tiles with a subtle or bold marble-effect pattern work well when teamed with wood, creating a timeless look that works well in many spaces.
Pattern Play
Another bold trend, particularly seen with tiles and vinyl, is the use of expressive patterns that reveal a little more personality. Safe neutral flooring is being rivaled by bolder choices to allow the floor to command attention while the softer, interior paint color trends on the walls complement the look. Whether it’s a dramatic geometric pattern or bright and bold pops of color, 2023 is the year to make a statement with your tiled flooring.
Herringbone
Whether its carpeting, tile or hardwood floors, the herringbone pattern is one of the best ways to capture attention with your flooring. The herringbone pattern will completely change the look of a room and it is timeless. And, because the pattern gives a feeling of movement, it’s a great way to make a smaller space feel bigger.
Glass & Mirrors
IT SEEMS EVERYONE is looking to increase the amount of natural light in their homes. Using quality, organic materials is also very important on their list. In recent years an increased use of glass and mirrors has helped to accomplish these goals. All-glass showers, steel-framed interior glass doors, antiqued mirror decor, and many other innovative ideas are putting glass to use. And, when it comes to durability, glass does not corrode with exposure to water, crack due to extreme temperatures or change color when exposed to sunlight. It doesn’t warp and is not susceptible to rot. Glass is extremely durable and will look great for a long period of time.
Wine Cellars
Designers are especially fond of using glass for display purposes and what makes for a better display than a beloved wine collection. Wine cellars are being made in framed and frameless glass styles, making a wine collection visible even behind the door. And a frameless glass wine cellar is ideal for a climate-controlled environment.
Crittall Style
One of our favorite interior glass trends is the black, steel-framed window look (Crittall style). Edgy and versatile, these slim-profile frames have the ability to completely transform a space; not just by giving it an edge that is somehow both retro and modern, but also by opening up a space and letting in more light. It’s a fabulous way to cleverly partition open areas to create different zones, without compromising on light or space. They can be used as internal partitions or connecting doorways, and they're great for dividing up and zoning spaces.
Glass Showers
Frameless glass showers and shower doors are in huge demand. Remodelers are starting to push the design envelope, using new materials and hardware like coated, water-repellent glass. This high-quality material is only slightly more expensive, and many homeowners feel this incredibly easy-to-clean surface is worth the added cost.
