Emergency 24 hour care enhanced in La Loma and Pilar de la Horadada

the department of health of torrevieja has made an important organizational effort to strengthen the points of continuous care of the health centers of Pilar de la horadada and La Loma, centers that have the largest number of urgent primary care in the department.

the PaC (Continuous Care Point) of the municipality of Pilar de la horadada will have a doctor and an additional nurse for 24-hour urgent care. thus, the center will have two doctors and two nurses for the urgent care of users.

For its part, the health center of La Loma adds an additional physician and an extra nurse at the Continuous Care Point, going from two to three doctors and two to three nurses, responsible for the urgent care of the center.

the increased physical presence of professionals is possible thanks to the efforts of the doctors and nurses of the department, who will come to La Loma from centers in the basic area and, in the case of Pilar de la horada, from the rest of the department. the increase in the number of shifts guarantees the interconnection of the centers and the networking of the work teams.

the Strategic Plan implemented during the last months has prioritized the creation of new vacancies with the incorporation of new specialists and the active search for resources. the new additions make it possible to offer better urgent care to patients and their families, reduce delays in care and favor a better approach to the patient. in Primary Care, and in a complementary manner, the Management has set up additional reinforcement modules in the Primary Care teams, arranged and approved according to the organizational requests of the area’s basic zone chiefs. the manager, José Cano, has highlighted the “important contractual effort that is being made; it is not an easy task to find physicians at a time like this, we are working on a longterm project that will allow us to be attractive to attract new professionals”.
