The hospital of Torrevieja starts the bidding process for the installation of a new state-of-the-art magnetic resonance equipment.

the university hospital of torrevieja has started the bidding process for the refurbishment of a new room that will house a new state-ofthe-art magnetic resonance equipment, acquired by the regional Ministry of universal health and Public health through the investment Plan for high technology equipment of the national health System (inVeat).

the new equipment, valued at more than 790,000 euros, is expected to see its first patients this year and will replace the current equipment which is obsolete after more than ten years of use. the university hospital of torrevieja becomes one of the first public hospitals in the Valencian Community to receive and implement a new Mri of the inVeat plan.

Since yesterday, and during the execution phase of the works, the university hospital of torrevieja will continue to have Mri equipment, thanks to the provision of an additional portable equipment installed in the rear area of the hospital. until the start of the works, the two pieces of equipment will coexist at the service of the department’s patients. in this way, the center will maintain one unit at full capacity while the works are being carried out without hindering the provision of this service. the radiology department works from Monday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., performing Mri scans, including weekends and holidays. the refurbishment works will cost approximately 150,000 euros and will include the preparation and refurbishment of the room. the regional Ministry of universal health and Public health has already awarded the 29 Mri scanners included in the investment Plan for high technology equipment of the national health System (Plan inveat) and the recovery, transformation and resilience Plan, financed by the european union-next Generation eu. the 29 pieces of equipment awarded in the Community of Valencia, for a total amount of 22,935,484.72 euros, reinforces the return to direct public management of the service for carrying out radiodiagnostic imaging techniques using magnetic resonance equipment. this is a latest generation equipment, Magnetom Sola 1.5 tesla of the commercial house Siemens.
