The City Council of Benejúzar presents Ximo Puig with the Book of Prestige of the Fiestas and Pilgrimage of El Pilar

All my life, I have never got any praise or admiration from my siblings. I am now in my 60s and every time my family turn up, I am subjected to criticism. My husband used to point it out years ago; I agreed with him but used to put up with it to keep the peace with my parents, who asked me to not make a fuss, but also did nothing about it. He says that my family have always purposely tried to demoralise me, and it’s got worse since my mother and father died. Now their children, (my nieces and nephews) have started to do it. Why can’t I get their approval?

the mayor of benejúzar, rosa García, along with the councilman of tourism, Manuel Parra, last thursday presented a copy of the book of Prestige of the Fiestas and Pilgrimage of Pilar, entitled ‘a promise turned into tradition’, to the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig. it is a commemorative publication and elaborated in high quality that collects the past and present of this deeprooted tradition.

the first mayor, also responsible for the area of

Festivities, said that “it seemed appropriate that the president of the Generalitat has, as an advance, with the first printed copy of this prestigious book to know our tradition and our own idiosyncrasies as benejucenses”.

Garcia has also stressed that from the Consistory “we are putting all our efforts to bring our Pilarica and our pilgrimage to the top”. this Prestige book is one of the actions, along with the audio guide and the signage of the path of the Pilar, which will be launched this year 2023. the objective is to provide content to the Pilarica throughout the year and to achieve the declaration of the festival as of autonomous tourist interest. the book of Prestige of the Fiestas and Pilgrimage of the Pilar, ‘a promise turned into tradition’, will be officially presented next Friday, February 10 from 20:00 hours in the auditorium eloy García López de benejúzar, with a visit to the permanent photographic exhibition of ‘recuerdos Pilaricos’. be challenged, and this can have benefits. In your longer letter you tell me that you are moving away to retire from where you all live, so, that will undoubtedly help as you will not be seeing so much of them. When you do see them, talk about them and not yourself, and if they ask about you, say ‘there’s nothing to tell really’. You ask why you cannot gain the approval of your family. I think the key here is to stop looking for it. And remember that those who matter don’t mind; and those who mind don’t matter. Who cares what they think. if you’ve seen an ex Spanish vehicle for sale in the uK or another european country, then at first glance, it may appear to be both cheaper and more convenient, but do be careful as there are lots of things to consider.

If you can’t change their behaviour, it might be wise to look at your own; is it possible you come across as needy and your looking for approval is too obvious? Also, try and view things from a different perspective; are you talking too much about your achievements etc? We’re often asked by our customers if it’s easier to buy an ex Spanish vehicle rather than import a foreign registered one. if you’d like to know more then do read on but our answer may just surprise you!

HOW EASY IS IT?

FIRST STEP in the first instance it’s absolutely essential to find out if the vehicle is still live on the Spanish traffic system (de alta) or if it’s been properly taken off the Spanish system (de baja), especially if it’s now registered in another european country. this can be done with a vehicle check, using either of the following links: https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/ vehiculos/informe-de-vehiculo/ https://www.car-registrationsspain.com/vehicle-search.html the vehicle check will determine what documentation you will need and more importantly, tell you if the vehicle has any administrative issues that would prevent it being registered in your name such as outstanding road tax, embargoes, finance markers or similar. once the vehicle has been tested the number plates will need to be swapped back to the number plates that correspond with the country of current registration, whilst the vehicle is pending registration with dGt.

CORRECTLY DEREGISTERED if the vehicle has been properly de-registered in Spain then it’s necessary to apply to the dGt to rehabilitate the vehicle and once permission is granted the vehicle can be tested. however you must have a full year’s insurance policy in place on the old Spanish registration number at the time of test and the vehicle needs to be tested on the old Spanish plates. you should also bear in mind that the itV station will need to order paperwork in advance of the itV test.

STILL REGISTERED IN SPAIN it’s quite often the case that an ex Spanish vehicle that has been registered in another country hasn’t been properly de-registered in Spain. if this is the case with your vehicle you will need the id docs of the previous owner to be able to register the vehicle in your name.

For this reason we recommend that you carry out a full vehicle check before you make a purchase and speak to a professional company that can help you avoid any pitfalls.
